Tickled_Pink
I need to find suitable screws for a few 800XL systems that have been taken apart but the screws lost. Does anyone know what the particular size and type of screw I need? And is there anyone in the UK who knows how to repair them? I have a faulty 65XE and a faulty upgraded 800XL I could do with getting working again. Edited June 6, 2009 by Tickled_Pink
Mathy
Hello Tickled_Pink Best Electronics sells sets of screws for almost all models. greetings Mathy
mimo
what are the symptoms? I would start by swapping the RAM in the XE first off anyway
Tickled_Pink
Just a black screen. It's what I get in both systems. And both systems have socketed RAM chips. Hello Tickled_Pink Best Electronics sells sets of screws for almost all models. greetings Mathy Thanks for the heads up. I took a look at their site earlier for PAL power supplies (shipping would probably be a killer for those bricks, though).

storhemulen
Using this old thread to ask if anyone knows the answer to the OP question, i.e. what size/type are the four screws that hold the bottom and top of the case together? Best electronics does not seem to sell any. Edited February 22, 2013 by storhemulen

Not too fat, not too skinny.
+bob1200xl
I use #6x5/8 philips pan head. You can use 1/2in screws (which I use to hold the m/b) in a pinch. 3/4in for the 1050. Bob 1
Tickled_Pink
Aha! Thanks. I can finally get it done.
storhemulen
Well, it turned out I still had the screws. All six of them, not four as I stated earlier. Must remember not to put things in too safe places. Thanks for the replies though.
