Working on my Robotron scores

I made the trip up to Funspot again today in Laconia, NH to get in some time on Robotron and was able to post a score just over 530,000. Thinking about submitting it to TG to get on the boards, though it would only put me at # 21. Pretty confident that I could edge into the top 15 will some practice. The top 10 would be a tad more difficult as most of the scores are in the 100,000,000+ range and have been standing since the early 80's. But it is good to have a goal, no?

 

Anyone else here working on setting some high scores on coin-ops or setting a new world record even? If so, let me know what you are shooting for.

It took me about 20 years (and finally getting the game on the PSX to practice) but I managed to score my first million on Robotron at an arcade machine probably around 2002 in Seattle. Nowhere near the top players, but it was my personal goal for a long while

 

I don't have access to an actual machine now but my high on the xbox live scoreboards for that version is about 630k or so. I have yet to touch that million again

My Robotron arcade machine (well, Multi-Williams, close enough right?) is currently down but should be up and running by the end of next week. I'll have to start a little friendly robotron tournament with you for high scores

Hey NE146, I find the 360 version much more difficult. My high there is in the upper 300's (AOWWaterborn).

 

CrazyClimber, I am up for a little challenge, though I have to make the trek to Funspot to get in any scores at this point. I hope to change that with the purchase of a Robotron cab in the near future though.

Yep, need more practice, but pretty sure that I can get my score up to the 1 million mark soon. The cool thing about taping oneself (this was the first time that I had done so) is that you see all the silly mistakes you make. What's your high score on your cab? Do you know about the "Timmy" trick on the first Brain level? If not, check out the game description on KLOV as it describes it pretty well.

Man I have no idea what my high score is, my machine has been down for a while but I actually just got it fired up again. Have a few minor issues to work out. The monitor color is way off, so is the darkness but both a very easy fix. No sound right now but I think a Multi Williams board has a speaker jack right on the PCB for a last case resort. The last issue is a real pain, my sticks are backwards so imagine switching hands and trying to play, it sucks. Soon I will be challenging your high scores!
