Tezz... great to hear... the first ones were very good... :)

 

still a miracle for me how the hell you were coding games without any crossassembler, tools etc... ;)

 

imagine f.e. Alternate Reality... Jesus... ;)

 

3 things are heavy to locate... a) random generator b) right border check for the centipedes as there is memory calculations envolved and not simply coordinate checks c) color patches to emulate the vic color ram in mode 6...sometimes there are interferences to other section of code...

aehm...check out the original VIC 20 version which is imho the best...and the sound fx are again great arcadish...

 

Totally agree! - The VIC version was by far the best. The chunky graphics just worked so well. The sound effects were awesome.

 

The Gridrunner game looks great so far!

 

Can we expect more Llamasoft conversions? Laser Zone? Hellgate?

who knows.... ;) I have some more on the list (when I am tired of trying to fix my sprite engine for Beyond Evil I am switching to 3,5 KB VIC20 ports).

 

best are 3,5kb games... in general they are using a 512 byte font ($1c00-$1dff) and that works most of the time for mode6...

small update...

 

centipedes are colored... but I am tired to fix the shoot (can not find right away where to patch)... but anyway...we are coming close...

 

ok. fixed and archive exchanged... have fun...

thx, have to be carefull regarding more patches... things to go

 

- right boundary check for the centipedes (player and bottom zapper already spottet where to fix)

- left zapper shot still in red and does not hit player

- falling down rockets

- collision detection now patched for the colored centipedes

- mushrooms leave hole when cleared

- randomness (have a look... zappers cross always at same place... compare to VIC original)

- make player green

- fix intermission screen

- sound fx

- title screen DLIs

 

so still some work to do... but it seems I am getting into the code now... (same appeared with MetaLlamas...few weeks with the code and I understand the whole logic...)

Thanks Guys... I don't want to enhance the game with "full A8"-power... see Metallama port... but I want to spice it up... so DLIs for Score, Title screen but I personal would avoid main game screen...

 

what do you think?

I agree, just the logo and title screen to keep it authentic to the original

3 more dli's sent btw.
