I thought the creator of pacman later admitted pac-man himself was stolen directly from a local pizza companies logo and the story about eating a slice from the pie was to help protect namco against lawsuits?

I don't remember ever hearing that aspect of the story for Pac Man. Some more facts would be nice, if someone could find that particular tidbit somewhere at post it here..

my lazy behind should check google... there was an article with quotes from the designer and photos of said pizza joint, including their logo, which was a big yellow circle with a 'pizza piece' missing.

just tried a first blush at google and came away empty pac-maned. maybe i need to try wayback...

 

except... i don't know the actual web address i'm looking for... is there a 'google-like' search for the wayback machine?
