S1500 #1 Posted June 17, 2009 So after an older version of MESS I was playing with basically crashed and crapped itself, I downloaded the latest version. I go into any system, and the toplevel Windows menu(File, Edit, etc) is nonexistant. Where do I turn this on? I swore I had this before in earlier versions. That makes it quite difficult to tweak settings.
Robbbert #2 Posted June 22, 2009 It should be there by default, but if not, add the command-line option "-newui", assuming you're using command-line of course.

I'm using MESSUI, ie whatever the Windows GUI version is called. I haven't had time to try it out lately. Is it in a MAME-style menuing system now, a la hit tab to get the on-screen menu? Robbbert #4 Posted June 23, 2009 To set default for all "games" : Options, Default System Options, Miscellaneous, Use New UI (ticked) Or on an individual basis : Right-click the "game" : Properties, Miscellaneous, Use New UI. This gives the Windows Menu by default. Pressing Scroll-Lock at any time will turn it off/on.
