kidnicky #1 Posted June 26, 2009 I just got New international Track and Field for DS,and this is going to sound like a stupid question, but what am I supposed to do in the discus throw? I can't even get my dude to throw the damn thing. I want to like this game, but I can't progress until I do this!
CGQuarterly #2 Posted June 26, 2009 I bought that game at a Target clearance sale and was highly disappointed. The game forces you to use the stylus to play the game even though it would make more sense to use the buttons, and the way you have to use the stylus to play it makes me nervous about messing up my screen. Glad I only paid 10 bucks for it. Chris
Video #3 Posted June 26, 2009 Track and Field for the DS? OMG, I remember how many atari and nintendo controllers we broke back in the day playing these types of games.....now think of that poor DS, how many smashed screens are there going to be? If I had made the game, the disc throw would work like "you run the stylus in a circle on the screen to spin your guy faster, and push a button, or the D to release (probably resulting in a lot of reverse throws or flings toward or away from the screen) But I don't make games, it seems as time goes on, good programmers are becoming more rare, and idiots are taking over. So, I'll go with what they went with, blow into the mike to make the dude spin, and tap the disc (not anywhere on the screen, the disc itself, which BTW, you won't be able to see as you are blowing into the mike) to throw it. Ok, seriously, I don't know, but seeing how poorly some of the games on DS are setup, this may actually be a pretty accurate guess

joeybastard #5 Posted July 2, 2009 I have it, it's an OK game but nowhere near the greatness of the original coin-op. I have more of a problem on the triple jump than any other event. It feels liek there's a delay between hitting the button and actually jumping so I fault all of the time.
Apok #6 Posted July 3, 2009 I just bought the Konami Classics cartridge instead, includes a decent port I believe... although I only played the actual arcade game a couple of times. Someone else might want to chime in on that fact but if its good it might be a way to play Track & Field a little more "authentically"
