sciarpo #1 Posted June 26, 2009 I got this today, but it is hard to shoot accurately with it. It doesn't stop well either. Is anyone good at using this, is there a way to use it well?

viMaster #3 Posted June 26, 2009 Answered my own question, I didn't enable it properly. I was going to say, I haven't had problems with mine, but you figured it out. So how do you like it? I'm amazed at how incredible it is.
sciarpo #4 Posted June 27, 2009 I like it, but the extra point part, you can't move up or down, so I went back to the standard controller.
viMaster #5 Posted June 27, 2009 I like it, but the extra point part, you can't move up or down, so I went back to the standard controller. You mean the bonus levels? I believe all you have to do is have a 2nd controller plugged into your jag and use that when you come to the bonus levels.
sciarpo #6 Posted June 27, 2009 I'll try that.

+remowilliams #8 Posted June 27, 2009 (edited) The only way to play Tempest 2000 is with a rotary controller! Enabling the rotary controller option in Tempest 2000 The first thing that you must do to use your new controller is to enable the rotary controller option. Here's how you do it: 1. Plug one standard controller into each input on your Jaguar. If you only have one standard controller, plug it into the left input and the rotary controller into the right input. 2. Insert your Tempest 2000 cartridge into the Jag and turn it on. Push B on the left controller to get past the title screen. 3. At the game select menu, press Option on the left controller to open the game options menu. 4. Simultaneously press Pause on both controllers. You will hear the word "Excellent!" and the "Controller Type" menu item will appear at the bottom of the option list. 5. Select "Controller Type" and then segthe type of controller for each input (they are set independently). The changes take effect after you exit the screen. 6. Plug in your new rotary controller(s) and have at it! Once enabled, the "Controller Type" option will be visible until you completely clear the cartridge memory (using Option -#- * at the title screen). If you do erase the cartridge memory, just repeat these steps to allow use of your controller once again. Things to keep in mind • It is possible to spin the controller faster than the Jaguar can respond to the input. In extreme cases you may notice your shooter starting to stutter and skip a little; as far as I can tell this is a characteristic of the way the Jag strobes the encoder inputs. So, in short, there is a limit to how fast you can move around the web with the spin controller. Obviously, this wasn't an issue with the button-based input. The solution is simply to avoid super- quick spinning • Game and level selection tends to be a little jittery with the rotary controller - this is normal. Just turn the controller slowly when making these selections. • When you are starting a new game, normally you'd use the Up and Down buttons to move to the next and previous web, respectively. This presents a problem with the rotary controller since the up and down switches are not there. So, instead, use C to move the next web and A to move back to the previous one. See? No worries!
