Blackjack #1 Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) I've been out of PC gaming for the last couple years and I was wanting some recommendations so I can get a few new ones. Genre doesn't really matter that much, I like really good games of almost any style...... except.... I will not play anything that requires being online, like multiplayer only, mmorpg, or anything that requires a connection like the steam engine did for half life 2. I hated that! classicgamingguy #5 Posted July 2, 2009 These games I'm listing are a little older than 1-2 years, but are quite enjoyable: Sid Meier's Pirates! Live the Life Titan Quest and expansion: Immortal Throne The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Dungeon Seige II and expansion: Broken World and older yet: Freelancer-by Microsoft The Sims original version/double pack/expansions Just a few games I play a lot of on my older PC. -Steve
MCHufnagel #6 Posted July 2, 2009 I can specifically recommend these games. 1) The entire Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War series (don't get DOW2 because it needs Steam). 2) Company Of Heroes series (made by Relic who makes the Dawn of War series) 3) The Witcher EE 4) Call Of Duty: World At War (has a Zombie Mode) 5) Sacred 2 6) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series 7) Plants VS Zombies (play it!) And any of the Telltales Games adventures (I recommend either Sam & Max series). Hope this helps!
carmel_andrews #7 Posted July 2, 2009 Doom 3 and quake
Classic Pac #8 Posted July 2, 2009 I personally like the non commercial games the ones that are free to download. Super Tux Tux Kart Mario Forever
classicgamingguy #9 Posted July 2, 2009 Most of the games I listed are around $20.00 now, so it's not too expensive to purchase. I forgot to put a plug in for Doom 3..great game, and scary in certain spots (if you like shooters). Diablo II and it's expansion are still widely played from what I've heard, and I personally enjoy the more gothic theme versus the Greek theme of Titan Quest (but Titan Quest is still my personal favorite and gets played more than my other PC games). Don't forget the compilations, such as: Atari Anniversary I and II Taito Legends Great games, and near-perfect arcade replicas. Er, sorry to ramble.. -Steve
