ColecoFan1981 #1 Posted July 2, 2009 (edited) Are there any Tomy Tutor titles out there being ported? The reason I started this forum is because both the ColecoVision and the Tomy Tutor used Texas Instruments graphics and sound chips; and thus using the same color palette, too. Tomy Tutor games available in the U.S.: *Scramble (Konami, 1981) *Jungler (Konami, 1981) *Loco-Motion (Konami, 1982) *Pooyan (Konami, 1982) *Traffic Jam (1983) *Cave Crawlers (1983) *Deep Six (1983) *Torpedo Terror (1983) *Hyperspace (1983) (this was released in Japan as Tron, though neither version was related to the 1982 Bally/Midway arcade game except for the Recognizers) *Car-azy Racer (1983) ~Ben Edited July 6, 2009 by ColecoFan1981
youki #2 Posted July 2, 2009 I think it is not so easy to port TI Game to Colecovision. The Video Processor is the same. But the TI is a 16bit machine and his processor has nothing to do with the Z80... the only thing would be to rip the graphics. But i think it is better to do some new and better. I think Pooyan is coming soon, i think i have saw it on Collectorvision site.
Bill Loguidice #3 Posted July 2, 2009 Pooyan is definitely already coming and it will be far, far better than the mediocre Tutor port.
Tempest #4 Posted July 2, 2009 A homebrew like Traffic Jam would be nice. The Japanese Tutor got some interesting unique games as well (like Demon Diggers). Tempest
Bill Loguidice #5 Posted July 2, 2009 I'd just love to get my hands on some of the advanced late release and 3D games released for the Japanese system. Those actually showcased the system's capabilities (thanks to some extra cartridge as well). They've been tough to find to add to the collection, though. newcoleco #8 Posted July 6, 2009 Please don't start a thread with a subject that gives readers false expectations. It's very annoying. The thread should be "may be ported" instead of "to be ported"? Well, I don't know if he's convincing about porting all these games or if he's just thinking about porting some of them. Anyway, good point.

Anyway, good point. Did you see my original post? The words are "How many of you guys would like to see any Tomy Tutor games be ported to the ColecoVision?" Yes, and I fully acknowledge that these will take time to do. These are indeed pure suggestions, and I do understand that not all of these may be ported. ~Ben Edited July 6, 2009 by ColecoFan1981
doubledown #10 Posted July 6, 2009 Did you see my original post? The words are "How many of you guys would like to see any Tomy Tutor games be ported to the ColecoVision?"~Ben ...right, but your title is "Tomy Tutor Games to Be Ported to ColecoVision." As is this was already in the works.
Jess Ragan #11 Posted July 6, 2009 In other words, you're blueballing gamers who are led to believe that this already has happened. It hasn't. When you start a topic like this, you should say "Can Tomy Tutor Games Be Ported To The ColecoVision?" or something to that effect. You're not the first person to do it, but it's still a pet peeve of mine.

I apologize to everyone here who thinks I'm blue-balling them. But still, I and a few other Tomy Tutor fans here would like to see at least one of those games get ported for the ColecoVision. ~Ben
Jess Ragan #13 Posted July 7, 2009 I don't think you understand why I'm irritated. It's not the content of this thread that bothers me, it's the misleading title. That's all.
Atariboy #14 Posted July 7, 2009 I agree, the only reason I even read the thread was because the title made it sound like this was actually occurring so I opened it up.
