STICH666 #1 Posted July 5, 2009 Well this story kinda started 5 years ago while visiting my aunt. I got bored and went down to an old shipping hub for PC Richards that closed down years back. On the ground I saw what looked to be a beat up container or something. I picked it up and it was a Burgertime cart for the Colecovision. Here's a pic of the place and the cart. Anyway I really haven't been back to this place for a couple of years. I just went back today to look around. Most of the crap has been removed and it looks like people are having parties at that place. So anyway I was looking around for more carts and I stumbled across a pretty badly damaged floppy. It was burned on one side and full of dirt but on the lable it faintly says "pacman". I popped open the shell and took out the floppy from inside. After cleaning it I found it to be largely unfamaged except for some dirt that scratched the part that was once covered by that aluminum peice. When I get homein a couple of hours, I plan on putting this in a new shell and seeing if it works. So what are the chances this thing still has any data on it? Video #2 Posted July 5, 2009 In that condition, having bootable data on it still is really unlikely, however I'm sure there is something on it, and a better defragger program may even be able to pull something useful off of it. However, that being said, there's any number of systems it could work for, and there's no real way of knowing when it doesn't work, if it really doesn't work, or isn't for your system. Might not be for my system. I just got home and it doesn't work. Just asks me to format the drive.
STICH666 #4 Posted July 5, 2009 Ok I just used a program called "RECOVER Floppy Pro v1.0" and it found 100's of zip files and one "game.bin" file. I can't recover them as RECOVER Floppy Pro is only a trial and I can't find a crack anywhere.
IceCold #5 Posted July 6, 2009 If the files are under 32kb each you can use the demo version of Active Floppy Recovery to recover it.
