New Feature "A Closer look" at SMX

New feature at Siver Moon Xtreme, A Closer Look, is an in depth article on a game, or genre of games for many different systems. The articles are written by StanJr, and should be released at least every other week.

For the first installment, Stan chose Back to the Future, fot the Nintendo NES.

I do enjoy these sorts of in-depth articles, especially when they cover "the game less traveled", so to speak.

 

Having said that, I think the reviewer should've withheld his verdict of "closer to classic than crap" until he saw the last level (clock tower), which is insanely difficult and grotesquely unfair. You get only one shot at it -- instant GAME OVER if you fail! -- and the timing of the obstacles means that it's almost impossible to pull off even with repeated practice. IMHO, it's the final nail in the game's coffin.

Thank you for your comments, I guess he will find out soon enough that maybe his rating this a classic may have been premature. :)

yeah, that is what I was afraid of. Only one shot, eh? So all those extra lives I save up are useless once I get there? Oh boy, this should be fun. Still, a really tough ending won't totally kill this game for me. It's still a pretty good romp, better than others I have played.

 

I got close last night, but can't get through those last 4 blocks! Ugh.
