GroovyBee
You'll have to wait for the 2600's Harmony cart. Your other options are Cuttle Cart 1, Cuttle Cart 2 (CC2) and the Kroko Cart. None of these are currently in production. EDIT: The CC2 is for the 7800 which plays nearly all the 2600 games. xXUlTiMaTe-SiNXx
Ohk, how much will the harmony cart sell for? also is it possible to build my own?
GroovyBee
Read the thread for estimated prices. You could build your own Harmony equivalent cart but then who is going to provide you with the software for the ARM microcontroller on the PCB? Or you could just add a ZIF socket to an old PCB to play 2K/4K games. You'd need to program/erase your own EPROMS then.

GroovyBee
If you need to ask what a ZIF socket is I'd wait for the Harmony cart. Its gonna be a whole lot easier for you.

GroovyBee
Its not going to be as easy as that. You need to know about 2600 bank switching schemes and logic/PALs or you can buy a preloaded PCB from the AA store. Some research is going to be needed on your part. You'll also have to find a local electronics store near you or some national online ones so you can order parts. Search the forums on here for technical information, analyse it and then ask questions about what you don't understand.

Ok thanks, one little qestion tho, is it possible to use a sd card instead of th eprom so that it is easier to "burn"?
yuppicide
Using an SD cart is not an easy task to do. You should wait for the Harmony to come out or try and find a Krokocart or Cuttle Cart. Those two options are usually expensive since they're not made anymore.

carmel_andrews
I recall from the VG book 'Phoenix' that US games and CBS electronics had extended cartridges that did similar to 'supercharger', not forgetting the Amiga Corporation entry (Power Module)

GroovyBee
The Supercharger isn't rare nor expensive. Depends where you are in the world. In PAL land you don't see them very often.
mcjakeqcool
I'm pretty happy with the godamn orignal supercharger! But yer know.
RevEng
If they're not rare or expensive, where can I get one? Fleabay and Chase searches come up empty. I'd love to get one.
Nukey Shay
If they're not rare or expensive, where can I get one? Fleabay and Chase searches come up empty. I'd love to get one. One just sold w/3 games on Ebay recently for $36.90. A loose one sold on CTCW for $9.52 a month earlier. Rather than searching for "supercharger", use "Starpath" or "Arcadia" instead. Or, post a topic in the wanted section here and somebody might hook you up.
RevEng
Ah. I've been looking periodically, but apparently my period was too long. Thanks for the tip!
Polybius
Back in the day, a manufacturer by the Name of Xante made games on reprogrammable cartridges. of course, they are so rare that you would be dumb to erase them. almost all Xante carts have a rarity of ten.
