Ikrananka #1 Posted July 16, 2009 The 8bitDomain website now has the following announcement on its homepage: "8bitdomain has ceased operations as of July 2009. Any outstanding backorders, claims, refunds, etc will be resolved. Send your info to [email protected] This web site, email accounts, and all other assets & intellectual property of 8bitdomain have been sold to a third party. Check back here for any announcements reguarding the future of any of 8bitdomain's products." I wonder who has purchased the assets and IP - let's hope they provide better customer service. I saw this coming from a mile away. Their customer service sucked balls.

keilbaca #6 Posted July 17, 2009 Goodbye and good riddance. My composite 7800 mod came in, I installed it correctly. Had a couple mismatched parts, like an 8 pin straight through and a 6 pin coupler, so I had to snip off a couple pins, and even then by time it was all said and done, the grays were super bright, and nothing looked right on the thing. Went to contact him got nothing. Goodbye and good riddance.
Jess Ragan #7 Posted July 18, 2009 Yeah, they get no tears from me. When I (finally) received my 5200 A/V mod, the wires were so small that I wound up having to solder in bridge wires before I could install it. If I hadn't known how to solder I would have been completely boned. Did they ever finish that wacky 5200 to 7800 adapter, or was that all a big hoax? I wonder if anyone really "purchased" the domain and assets. I got a canned reply, same as at least one other user but nothing since. I wouldn't be surprised if the supposed sale was just a rouse to get people off his back. One man outfit or not, the service was beyond poor. I spent close to $50 bucks for a 2600 mod and got nothing. This Mike character is a big piece of shit and hope someday he gets his. http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=145828&hl=
+remowilliams #9 Posted July 18, 2009 wasn't it a one man operation? Yes, one man operation. I really wish he could have partnered with someone for fabrication and sales. Mad genius at the creation of things, sales and other stuff well... Did they ever finish that wacky 5200 to 7800 adapter Yes, it's quite cool.

SavyIsJoshoArts #11 Posted July 24, 2009 *sigh* That now explains why Mick didn't reply back to me since April/May. Golli, This is absolutely devistating. I got my console there still and my awaiting 2600 4 switcher Video MOD. I just went on there a week and a bit ago. AS the header says "Any outstanding backorders, claims, refunds, etc will be resolved" The Question i like to know about the backorders. Will the backorders for people who ordered the Video MOD be able to get they're Video MODs at all, or does it mean we don't get our bacorders and our money gets refunded? I asked for a refund and it was honored. I got the same story that others received. That is was boxed up and ready to go, but never shipped. I didn't trust the stuff would work even if I received it. Hence the refund route.
Garner #13 Posted July 24, 2009 I finally recieved my 7800 mods today after four months. I'll post when I know if they actually work or not.

Last update I got from them is that My console was tested and was all fixed and ready to be boxed to be shipped back here. I just sure hope it's still there. I'm hoping. It's been there almost ober 9 months. Glad you got your refund, mate.

Atariboy #16 Posted September 19, 2011 (edited) 8BD had excellent products, even if the service was lacking. The Mod for my 2600 kicks major arse. Wish I could say the same about my 7800 mod. OldSchoolGamer couldn't get it working right after two tries with it still having significant bleeding and ghosting issues, and he's a professional. Couldn't get anyone else to even consider taking a shot at it. I guess his 7800 mod in particular had a pretty lackluster reputation that made people not want to touch it with a 10' pole. With Longhorn Engineer around here building far better video modifications for various Atari consoles, the void has been filled with far higher quality, if you ask me. I didn't get that one - I got 5200 - to put in Atari 400! But I downloaded all the PDFs, thinking that turkey would disappear. Let me try to upload here: ....filesize is too big. I just put them on Mediafire: http://www.mediafire...yv4efoqtlgq8wop There are 2 PDFs in the zip - one is for "rev B" and the other is not. Since I don't have a 7800, I don't know the difference - is the mod or the console the one with the revision???? Anyway, hope it helps!
