Koopa64 #1 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) Hi. I figured I might as well post my game room. Everybody else seems to be doing it. UPDATE Mon Oct 5, 2009: Just refreshing these pics. I finally got around to taking new pics. I've added a different TV, moved the old one to the right, a new 5.1 surround sound system (amp can be seen to the left, some spare consoles ominously added to the shelf on the far left. The pic count is now 23 pics, quite an improvement over a measly 3 huh? UPDATE Mon Oct 25, 2010: Time for the annual refresh! Actually I never meant for it to take a whole year to take new pictures, but I had tons of stuff to do at the time. I ended up forgetting this thread. Please excuse the sub-par quality of the images, it was already dark out when I took these images and I was in a bit of a hurry. If it doesn't take me another year to take more pics, I'll try and take pics during the day and with more time to spare. The image count as of now is 38, including recycled pictures. Someday I hope to take pictures of my cart only games... UPDATE Wen Oct 27, 2010: Just re-shot some pictures and added a new one. ^An entire pic of the entertainment center. ^An overall shot of that corner of the room. ^Spare consoles, magazines and strategy guides go here. Most of my loose cartridge containers are kept here. You probably can't see them, but I have two Game Gear carry cases here. One hold my Game Gear collection of course, the other keeps most of my Game Boy/Color stuff. I will post interior pics of those cases farther down. Oh yeah, AV and power cables and adapters go in the boxes to the left of the wooden shelf. I really need to find a better place to put all that stuff... ^A close-up of the amp. ^Genesis does what Nintendon't. UPDATE: Re-freshed the pic. ^The centerpiece TV. The sound system and the large majority of my consoles are connected to this TV. Picture isn't that great considering the picture is kinda lacking in brightness and seems "dirty" at times. Considering replacing it with a bigger TV from upstairs which has much better picture and video inputs. UPDATE: Took a new picture. ^Not much has changed here. Just the addition of a 360 + Wii on top and the 7800 has been moved to the bottom shelf. ^Still a very nice TV. It's picture is surprisingly sharp for an RF-only TV. Given it is Halloween time, I decided to leave Haunted House running. Man is it nice to have some fun 2600 games to play. Thanks SpendToMuchOnAtari! ^Mostly just Nintendo controllers. ^If two Zappers aren't enough, I can always break out the Menacer... The rest of the cables are just extension cords (very useful in my setup) and a weird 2-button (w/autofire)and D-Pad controller with a DB-15 plug. Like on the Atari 5200 and NEO-GEO. UPDATE: Nothing resides in that compartment anymore because stuff kept falling behind when it was closed. The Menacer is now kept next to the 7800. ^My very nice Atari 7800. As you can see I've been playing Haunted House. Very fun! ^A nice convenient place to put the DVD player. But why a DVD player next to a PS2? Because the PS2 can't read a damn thing nowadays. It's only useful for playing PS2 and PS1 games. UPDATE: Hardly anything has changed with this part of the room, so I re-used the old pic. Only thing different is there are N64 controllers taking up the vacant space. ^This is where the rest of my Genesis games are. Ones without cases. Carts that have cases go on the shelf. Except for Aladdin, the box's hinge is shot. <_< Lotsa' controllers too. UPDATE: I couldn't get a good picture without turning on the flash, so I just left it. Only thing different is there are more Genesis cartridges. ^I keep my Dreamcast/PS1 games here. Sorry for the dark pic. ^A full view of the two shelves I currently use to hold most of my game boxes. These shelves are directly opposite to where the TVs and consoles are. There's a nice long couch underneath the shelf. UPDATE: Just re-freshed the old image. Biggest difference here is the games take up 3 shelves, not 2. ^Part 2 of the previous image. The shelf spans too much wall space to capture in one shot. ^Just some system boxes and the end of that shelf. ^The most notable thing in this pic is the PC boxes. Mostly LucasArts games. Can't go wrong there! ^This part of the shelf hasn't changed one bit. Except maybe that copy of Corpse Killer on 32X CD. This is a re-shot image. ^This is somewhat different. Not by much though. ^Again, hardly a difference. ^Some more GameCube games, but in general not much change... ^Some good GBA stuff. For what it matters, those stuffed toys are a Nintendo-licensed Green Koopa Troopa and a hand crotchet Hairy Bulborb and Wollywog, both from Pikmin/Pikmin 2. ^Lots of nice SMS games. The only one without a manual is Pro Wrestling. ^Genesis games. Not much has been added here since last update... ^Some more Genesis games, but more importantly my 32X games. I've added quite a few new 32X games since last time! There are more in the next picture. ^Lotsa' 32X games! It's definitely one of my favorite systems. Especially to collect for. ^SNES and N64 boxes. ^Xbox 360 games. ^Original Xbox games. Lots of good ones I'd like to add! ^Xbox demo discs and Wii games. Metroid Prime 3 and NPC Pikmin are still minty sealed. ^A few more Wii games and some PS2 games. A few more PS2 games and a couple of random items. The case for the Nintendo e-Reader and a Japanese (yes?) GBA SP 2 box. ^This box hasn't really changed much over the years. My newer NES additions reside on the shelf. UPDATE: Yep, this box really hasn't changed much over the years! Or at least, last year. ^And this is what resides inside my Kirby's Adventure box... ^Bonus! This is my secondary PC desk, with my Windows 2000 PC and iMac G3. Edited October 27, 2010 by Koopa64
sinistermoon #2 Posted July 20, 2009 Seeing this reminds me that I need to get another Sega CD. Nice collection. You know what I like about your collection? It actually looks like it is set up to play. Unlike some of the other collections on here that appear to only be for show.
Koopa64 #3 Posted July 21, 2009 Haha, good point on the "set-up to play" note. I was already playing games so I saw no point in putting the controllers away. Also, you need to buy another Sega CD PRONTO. Maybe I'll take pictures of my cartridges and CDs next. >.>

Koopa64 #6 Posted October 7, 2009 This is all I have for Atari games: Ms. Pac-Man Choplifter Pole Position 2 Xevious Desert Falcon (defective) Karateka Seaquest (2600) Earth Attack (2600) This is what came with my 7800 when I bought it. I've been meaning to buy some more but I've been putting it off... I should at the very least get Missle Command... That's one of my most wanted 2600 carts... I have failed Atari Age... Koopa64 #16 Posted May 25, 2011 Nice stuff Koopa. Crazy disheveled but with a method to the madness. Trust me, it's been way worse before. If I had the time and money, I'd rebuild the room and make things super organized. However, I am a cheap ass so things will have to stay messy. I should really update this thread if people are actually viewing it now. Significant changes have been made. I think I'll do that after I finish this project I'm working on.
