+doctorclu #1 Posted July 23, 2009 So looking at Best Electronics Catalog where they show all the pinouts for joystick ports and cartridge ports, I see for the Lynx that there is a "Audio In" on cartridge pin 32. Has anyone ever looked into the idea of hard writing a Audio in port to the Lynx so that you could take in Audio through the Lynx and out the speaker? Would be nice to be able to plug in an outside source for music, the immediate idea is using a patch cable from a iPod to the Audio in port, running music through the Lynx. Hey don't want to carry headphones, or just want to pipe in different in game music, there you go. Naturally I know it will not be that simple, and I'm sure someone has looked into this already and could tell me all about the Audio in pin, so what's been found out about that? TailChao #2 Posted July 23, 2009 (edited) I was considering doing something like that in 2003. However, the Audio In pin is only a single digital read/write line for the Lynx's CPU. The name is fairly misleading, and it's more useful for bankswitching or as a general purpose I/O pin. There's no analog connection to the speakers whatsoever, and getting any sort of tolerable audio through it would be very slow and CPU intensive. The Audio In pin on the GameBoy however, is exactly what you are describing. Edited July 23, 2009 by TailChao
