StanJr #1 Posted July 24, 2009 I've been out of the emu game for a few years now, and I need to use one solely for the purpose of grabbing screenshots. Which VCS emu out there has the simplest interface for taking screenshots? Specifically I am looking for an emu that takes screenshots with minimal effort and saves the someplace where I can find them, or even better, will allow me to direct where they go. Bear in mind that I am a simpleton and the more complicated it is, the more likely I am to screw it up. Thanks! Stan

If so, taking a snapshot in Stella is done by pressing F12. With the latest version, the snapshots are saved in your 'Application Data\Stella\snapshots' folder by default. You can change this within the program by going to 'Options -> Config Files -> Snapshot path', and have it save the snapshots whereever you like. +thegoldenband #3 Posted July 24, 2009 (edited) Stephen, is there a Stella-specific key command for taking screenshots in the Mac version, or do we simply use Option-Cmd-3 to do it at the OS level? Edited July 24, 2009 by thegoldenband
+stephena #4 Posted July 24, 2009 Stephen, is there a Stella-specific key command for taking screenshots in the Mac version, or do we simply use Option-Cmd-3 to do it at the OS level? It's also F12 for OSX (as it is for Linux as well), but that's probably being used by Expose in windowed mode. You'll have to change the mapping to something else (perhaps Enter, as that isn't currently used for anything). Or switch to fullscreen mode, where F12 (and F9 to F11 too) will work as on other systems. I'll look for a fix for this in a future release to better accommodate OSX users. +SpiceWare #5 Posted July 24, 2009 I'll look for a fix for this in a future release to better accommodate OSX users. You may not need to - the newer Mac keyboards have a dedicated key for it that doesn't "steal" a function key.
StanJr #6 Posted July 25, 2009 sounds pretty simple to me, stephena! Thanks!
StanJr #7 Posted July 27, 2009 thanks for the tip. I've been playing around with Stella for a few hours now, and man is it sweet.
