Bill Loguidice
Can you clarify, "instructions so that you will not destroy your system when trying to play these games."? Not sure what that means...
+swlovinist
Can you clarify, "instructions so that you will not destroy your system when trying to play these games."? Not sure what that means... Gladly. The original Action Max came with some paperwork needed to calibrate the TV just right to make the dang thing play. When testing the disc out to confirm that they played well, I found these instructions very helpful to get the system to work right. I am including them with this project. I have the DVD cover made and will be making the lightscribes of these this week, and should be able to ship out within the next couple of weeks or so. I will only be making 20 of these. Consider this a parody humorous project, and one that was fun to do. Edited July 29, 2009 by swlovinist

Tempest
The most amusinig comment I ever read about an Action Max game was "This has worse production values than most porn". So true. So true... That being said, The Rescue of Pops Ghostly is still amusing to watch if you're drunk (or high I suppose). Tempest
the.golden.ax
The funny part is that my parents actually bought it for me back in the day for a Christmas presant. They tried it out and thought it sucked so badly that they called my sister and I into the room... where it was all hooked up... told us.. "this is horrible we are taking it back to get a refund". Then they said we may as well play it untill they returned it... Some part of me has missed it, but I don't remember being sad that it was gone at the time. Hmn. Bill Loguidice
Yeah, I had a similar experience. I had some gift money and I think I spent like $90 or so on the thing at Toys R Us and I remember being incredibly underwhelmed when I got it home and played it with my friends. I still kept mine (and still have it), but it never lived up to the hype of the commercials, naturally. the.golden.ax
As I recall it was $74.95 (anyone else have a ball park or actual suggested MSRP?) I can't fathom how I remember the price... or if it's right but that seems correct. SW I guess I do want one... I'm going to end up pick a system up off eBay.. there is one for $10 right now (if you yall let me get a deal and don't bid it up). PS.. your Orion collection is on the way. StoneAgeGamer
My older brother bought me one for x-mas. It was horrible, it didn't take long before I cut the cord off the gun and used it as a toy gun. I also had the Captain Power light gun toy. I don't think it ever worked right, but for some reason I enjoyed the Captain Power movie so I watched that a lot. y-bot
I had one that I bought on a close out at Toys R Us for $20 or so. I don't remember it ever working correctly. Awesome idea John. y-bot
+swlovinist
I have two boxed systems, both with different packaging. One has a "larger" box, the other has smaller box. The one with a larger box has price tag of $69.99 from Kay Bee Toys. Update: I should have these done and ready to ship out within one week. Paypal is oneswfan@hotmail.com 9 left! +thanatos
Friend of mine got one, not long after it came out, but his parents probably got it at an after-Christmas sale (Pretty sure the prices crashed rather quickly) The problem was the commercials made it look SO AWESOME!!!! and it really wasn't. Once we played it, it was like: "Oh, it only puts the scores on the floor there, well, that's kind of lame." And we were the target demographic at the time. Lendorien
I had to look this thing up on Wikipedia. Seriously, who came up with the idea for such a console. The inherent nature of VHS cassettes make this a BAD IDEA that seems obvious to anyone with half an understanding of how real video games work. Still, it's sort of cool that you're dvdifying the games. Anyone found any homebrew?
+swlovinist
I want to be clear that although they are on DVD, they have "VHS quality". I made sure to include all the commercials and startup sequences as well from each TAPE. I just watched Sonic Fury all the way through, and WOW, it really is that bad. I want to thank all that have signed up for this project, as it was my first time making a project like this.

Jess Ragan
I remember it mostly from the Bill Cosby product placement extravaganza Leonard Part 6. I had a chance to buy one several years back but never did... and now I'm kind of glad I didn't. So, will this craptastic system work with an LCD television, or is the technology similar to the light guns in the NES and Master System?
