Wanted: Tandy Joystick

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I'm looking for a Tandy-compatible joystick, either Tandy brand, Kraft brand or the IBM version. As shown in the pic below:

http://www.oldskool.org/guides/tvdog/image...ickTopLarge.jpg

The one I'm looking for is the one with the 6-pin DIN (round) joystick connector, not the square connector or 5-pin TRS-80 connector. There are two buttons, one on top, one on the side.

Looking to pay about $10-15 shipped or whatever you think is fair. Thanks.

I have a couple of black w/aluminum handle version somewhere. Ever since I started cleaning I can't find anything.

If those might be of interest, let me know and I'll hunt them up and take pictures.

I may be interested in those too, depending on the version. Mainly looking for the later edition as shown in the pic, but if you have any pix of the ones you have I wouldn't mind seeing and maybe we can work something out

2 of these, CAT. NO. 28-3008:

The shaft is all metal. I remember finding one time that this feature means something to some people. I guess in later versions that connecting shaft was plastic.

Please let me know either way, whether you're interested or not. They're destined for a "miscellaneous crap for sale" posting if you're not interested.

It's unfortunately not the one I'm looking for - the 2-button one with the 6-pin connector. Thanks anyways though.

I used to have that joystick! Had it for my Tandy 1000HX, which had a few things in common with the PCjr. Broke it twice trying to play The Last Ninja.

Ah, yes. I didn't notice that sneaky little center pin.

Yes, the one he wants is a self-centering stick. The black ones don't center.

There's actually also a 1-button self centering version. Don't know why they did that. (I have one of each)

And as a CoCo enthusiast, I do remember the metal vs. plastic stick on the black model. Metal ones were definitely earlier.

I just picked up one of those joysticks the OP is looking for because I'm hoping to get a few coco carts. My buddy the toyratt is sending me 5: demolition derby, download, canyon climber, popcorn, castle guard so I'll get to try that joystick out.

The Tandy connector is NOT the same as the PCjr connector. The PCjr sticks use a special boxy connector like the rest of the PCjr peripherals (terrible idea by IBM), different than the Tandy and the IBM PC.

Is this what you want? (no connection to seller yada yada yada)

http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Deluxe-Tandy-Joystic...p3286.m20.l1116

He lists the model # as 26-3012B which should be the one you want. Ask the seller to make sure.

That's the one, it's actually been in my Watch list... eying it, though I didn't really want two, the more the merrier I guess. If anyone has a single one of these, that'd be great. Otherwise I may go with those two, even though it's a bit more than I wanted to pay

Yea thats a bit much. I only paid $5 for mine.

Shipping to me showed over $12.00 for parcel post. They must be bigger and/or heavier than I imagined.

I don't think they're that big or heavy. Slightly bigger around the base compared to a standard atari stick but the stick is shorter. Weighs about the same too, just by holding one in each hand.

Nah, shipping from this guy seems high. Over $13 parcel post to me. He could put them in a priority flat rate box for about the same or maybe less, with free delivery confirmation. Guess he uses the REALLY REALLY good bubble wrap.

Yea looks in good shape but being untested I wouldn't take a chance at that price which is a little steep for those sticks IMO.

While checking myself, I found this one which looks like it works for a coco. I had one like this 20 years ago and its in a box with a good starting price. If he shipped to Canada I'd be all over this one so some other coco fan here might want to check this one out.
