I Googled that e-mail address to find out who our troll is. Here's a recent Craigslist ad from him:

Of course, we don't know for sure that the person posting in this thread is actually the owner of that shop. Could be a disgruntled employee or customer trying to stir up drama.

Further examination of the Google results reveals this other Craigslist ad:

I do recall Nathan saying something about him originally renting the back room of a store or some such. So it sounds like our troll had a parting of the ways with Nathan and now he's got sour grapes 'cause he didn't realize Nathan's store would continue to be the "go to" spot for vintage games even after he (the troll) moved out.

The picture in that craigslist ad is NOT my shop, mine is down the street.

 

Not getting into any flame wars here, I have been in contact with Albert and if anyone wants, I can post pics of my actual shop.

Nathan, your reputation and history here are solid enough that you don't need to respond to somebody with a post count of two who's clearly not playing with a full deck.

 

Furthermore, the notion that he's somehow going to go above our heads and get the powers that be at AtariAge to delete your pics is just laughable.

So, N.A. move or not? I FedEx'ed a gift to him in November at the address I had for him. Somebody signed for it. I PM'ed him to see if he received it: no reply. Asked him in another thread sometime later if he'd received something from me: again no response. I'm not aware of us having gotten on bad terms at some point...

 

That craigslist ad has indications of being created by someone whose native language is Spanish. I've never noticed such tendencies in N.A. so I doubt he actually moved his operation to the location indicated in the craigslist posting.

I can't speak to Nathan's lack of contact with you, but I may be able to clarify a point or two:

 

a) Nathan's business and GameShopELP's business used to share the same store space.

 

b) GameShopELP is no-longer at that location, and has moved to a new address on the same street.

 

c) The Craigslist ads I linked to were posted by GameShopELP, not Nathan.

I'm still here, and I'd like to update a bit. Again, BigO, PM sent a while back, sorry for not keeping up! I get lost some times.

 

I have my State of the Shop video up on youtube, that's where that stands.

 

There's a guy badmouthing me on craigslist, not sure who it is and don't really care to find out. It's crap, after all.

 

New Atari t-shirts have arrived, they're here, finally! I can almost say they are exclusive (almost, but not quite). The Zombie shirts ARE exclusives.

 

Furniture is being built, things go on. I am STILL in the biz, still doing game stuff and computer stuff. Lemme tell everyone, the game stuff is strictly for spreading the love 'cause the computer stuff is the impersonal repairs and security fixes I do. I got that degree for a reason. Same goes for the Anime I am really getting into lately, it's for fun and stuff, not trying to get rich at all. My prices are WAY lower than anyone else that knows what they have.

That's on the back burner, along with most of my personal projects, I hate to say. That would be a great thing to do, and really want to get to it but SOOO many other things have kept me from any of my own projects.

 

In case anyone is wondering, what Carmel is referring to is my idea to run SMS carts *natively* on a C128 using all onboard hardware and a power base converter like ... converter. Lots of research to be done on it, but like I said, all of my personal projects are on hold

It seems to be the same person every time, not sure if it's him or a buddy of his. He says I run a junk shop, and one real good Tell is in one he says "if you shop there wear a mask" and that is something gameshopelp would say imho; that my stuff is trash, also not a commonly local term, "trash;" also says that I am a scam artist because I listed my SNES cables at $8. Alirighty then:D Yep, cables straight from Nigeria Honestly not too worried, but it does detract from people seeing my ads.

lately just common stuff, nothing worth writing home about. People sell me their things or use them as trades, and mostly I go for the broken things; things that won't read disks/carts, broken plastic or ports. Sometimes the local auctions are nice, but I hardly ever get to those.

 

One really neat thing that came in today is an Alphasmart terminal thing, I thought hey, something to tinker with, then I opened it up and there's a 68K family processor in it! Traded in as a broken thing, just needed batteries and the power supply had shorted and melted but didn't take the console with it. I'll make a video next chance to cover it. I wanna see Sonic in dot matrix!!

 

Update to The Drama; a regular customer of mine came by, he had bought a GenMobile from the jerk guy who left. It was defective, so he took it back. Long story short, the Customer ended up with nothing but a non-working GenMobile, lost a PSP in the proicess (I'm even confused by that one) and The Jerk Guy told him I was out of business and came to my shop seething angry, and surprised since

 

the jerk guy told him I was totally out of business and the store was closed!

 

I am starting to find this extremely funny! I mean it sucks that he's ticking people off, but *I* am not ticking anyone off. So far as I know, anyway.

That's a really original name. Whenever his slanderous Craigslist postings appear, you should post links to them, so that we can all flag them for removal. I don't know how many flags it takes for a CL ad to get deleted, but it sure couldn't hurt to have everybody here flagging them.

I've flagged both ads. Hopefully your other friends here will do the same. Not that either ad really struck me as very effective propaganda. The one where he kept alternating between lower-case and capital letters was barely readable.

I think you need to develop more trades with the mexicans and brazillians/argies Nathan...lot's of interesting atari clone's there (hardware as well as software)

 

I am sure they also deal with non atari things as well, like ninty, sega, commodore etc
