16-bit
Nice ad! The GenMobile looks great. I think I will definitely be picking one of these up.
StoneAgeGamer
Thanks guys. I was obviously going to the original Genesis game box look and I think it turned out pretty well.
Video
That looks beautiful man, though the buttons may be a bit awkward at that angle. I'll certainly be picking one up, that's AWESOME!!

While I don't think I will pick up the GenMobile, I do think it looks nice, as does the GenCore.

Video
Heck yeah, the Gencore is cool looking to. I already got a GNtwin and some other dohickey for Genesis, but that's just friggin awesome looking.
TwinChargers
Quick question, are these gonna be distributed to larger retailers like Targets and Wal-Marts, or is this more or less like a FC Twin and only gonna be found at gaming related chains. I figured since Target atleast had that Coleco handheld with 20 Sega titles, maybe ther was a chance it would get a chance to get some higher sales figures being in a B&M store. StoneAgeGamer
Being a small retailer I have be to selfish and say "I sure hope not." B&M stores do sell these, but they are usually classic gaming stores or at least gaming stores that carry some classic games.
Video
It actually has a decent chance, the reason something like GNTwin and other famclones don't pop up at walmart, is they are escentually useless, without a game. And yeah....walmart's going to hold your hand when the crusty 20+ year old cart doesn't work. Something like this, with the game built in (or is it on a cart? anyhow, it's included) can pass off, cause customer service can just say "it's for runing the packiin game." You'll of course have to look into the single function handheld section of the toystore though, it's useually by board games. I'd rether get it online from someplace like SAG though, there's plenty of other people to support walmarts and such, but there's also plenty of stuff I'd be interested in hat only some place like SAG would have. 1982VideoGames
Does anyone know if you can connect a Sega Genesis controller to the unit and use it to play as Player 1?
StoneAgeGamer
No controller ports on GenMobile, but I think the GenCore may be compatible with Genesis controllers (unlike the GN Twin/GEN-X/FC3). I'll have to check to make sure.

StoneAgeGamer
Yeah the proprietary controller ports on the GEN-X and the like were a major sore spot for me.
Reaperman
okay, I'm officially interested. Just got Syndicate and Starflight, but as always my genesis doesn't work with my projector, and the screen on on the nomad just isn't making me happy anymore. I guess this is probably the end of the 'nomad is still worth money' age too.
DaytonaUSA
How much will the GenCore be? Also, is that how big the cart will be in relation to the portable?
StoneAgeGamer
GenCore is $39.99, however if you buy them both together you can get them both for $89.99. If you use that discount code on CVG's website you can get another $5 off that. So you can get both for $84.99.
Video
My guess for size, it will look almost as ridiculous as the FCtwin2 does with a NES cart sticking out the top of it Demension wise, slightly wider than a geny cart, about the same height (though the cart will probably fit about half in, so stick out the top) and about twice as thick. I got a comparison pic for the FC twin, but damn, it's still on te camera, so I'll have to post it later, but probably about the same size. Metalwario64
What's going on here? I checked out Stone Age Gamer's website, and the GenCore and GenMobile are now delayed to October... I thought this was supposed to come out around the middle of September, and now it's coming out early October? Anyone have any idea what's going on?
StoneAgeGamer
I don't know exactly. Last e-mail I got from Hyperkin stated that they were delaying launch to early October to work on some compatibility issues. How true this is a don't know. Innex's has also been delayed quite a few times already as well. They claim theirs will be out this week, however I have heard this the last 4 weeks. Its situations like this that I hate taking pre-orders. Yes if I don't I lose out on sales to competitors.
