Cassidy Nolen #1 Posted October 9, 2002 Hi guys, Just wondering why this game is a 10, but there is one on ebay for 35 bucks? DPG lists it at $500 bucks, loose! Crazy. I just traded Jah Fish for his, and I was so excited. Now I see its a cheap one. Wierd. Cassidy
CPUWIZ #2 Posted October 9, 2002 It's the NTSC version that is super rare not the PAL one !
Tempest #3 Posted October 9, 2002 It's the NTSC version that is super rare not the PAL one ! Actually I don't think the NTSC version has even ben proven to exist! The rom is out there but no one seems to have one. Is it possible that the rom was from a PAL cart and was hacked into being NTSC? Tempest
Thomas Jentzsch #4 Posted October 9, 2002 Is it possible that the rom was from a PAL cart and was hacked into being NTSC? Not me this time, I swear! Technically possible yes, but that's true for nearly all ROM variations.
MattyXB #5 Posted October 9, 2002 The ROM is very old. I don't think, that someone earlier has hack games. So its maybe a true NTSC ROM. But who knows? And I think, the PAL version is too very Rare. Maybe not so Rare like an NTSC version, but Rare at all.
jahfish #6 Posted October 13, 2002 yes, so far it seems nobody is able to come up with a NTSC version .... joel also started a thread with no results. i am supposing that this is based on pal carts that were sold on ebay.com .... the cheapest mangias i've seen on ebay went around 60$ but looked real ugly ... i've had a boxed one for 100$ once, another for 150$ .... the "more common" loose ones usually end between 80-120$ ... that is why i added you a bunch of weirdos in trade to make it equal ... AtariKari #7 Posted October 13, 2002 In the game, there is a cat in the window, a dog under the table, and then a third "ghost" animal, only visible because it obstructs the other graphics. Give it a play and you'll see what I mean. Is this any evidence that the NTSC is a hack / why would someone program a game with invisible graphics? I'm using the CCart and AA rom, btw. Tempest #8 Posted October 13, 2002 Yeah I saw some strange crap like that when I was playing, but I assumed it was a glitch. In the manual it only mentions the cat and the dog so I doubt theres a hidden animal. Tempest
CPUWIZ #9 Posted October 13, 2002 Weird, I have the NTSC version on a cart but I haven't seen any artifacts are you guys sure it doesn't have anything to do with the cuttlecart or perhaps a bad dump ?
Tempest #10 Posted October 13, 2002 You have an NTSC Mangia? A production cart? Got a pic? Tempest
