...you have waded into a virtual SEA of experts on here. Your joysticks are priced too high. No one on here will buy them at that price. Coming on here just to sell stuff with a total of TWO whole posts and then getting all defensive when longstanding members point out the obvious is probably not the best way to get top dollar. Put your sticks on eBay if you think they are worth that much--maybe you can get some sucker to pay that much for them.

 

I have 4 of these sticks. They are nice sticks. They are not worth 18 dollars apiece. This is my inexpert opinion.

 

That piece said, welcome to AtariAge! If you like Atari, stick around. Play some High Score Club, post a little, maybe learn a thing or two from some very nice people. Sure, this is a rough initial reception but we've all been there. When I first joined, thought I had a gold mine of Atari 5200 stuff. That wasn't the case, but I'm still here and learning more every day!

But yeah welcome to the "Age" spend sometime here and get to know the great folks here and post to the site and listen to the people here lot of these guys have been collection Atari stuff for a very long time.

 

And like Phaxda said no matter how long you are here you learn new stuff all the time and with the sticks yes i have seen them go for those prices on ebay but they can go cheaper too as well.

 

Heck i need one of those but am waiting to get a good deal or trade for one myself good luck my friend.

So... you're not alone in posting stuff for sale at high prices on a forum where you don't have a rep--as you can see, I have done it myself! In my opinion though, it's all about how you react after people who know a little bit point out the obvious...

I genuinely wished you the best of luck, for $34 on a pair of Tac-2s you need all the well wishing possible to sell them. I did nothing objectionable, and held back anything negative I could have said. Again, best of luck... (that one is the rolling eyes... )

phaxda, thanks for the welcome.

I was a member on here for several years and I only cancelled my old screen account due to an ex-girlfriend stalking me. Although I have bought and sold a few items on the marketplace, most of my activity was in the homebrew forum.

 

That being said---

Sure, I was defensive, but I have never liked "hall monitors" who think they know everything. I've seen items posted for sale that I personally thought were overpriced but I didn't chime in with "my opinion" about it.

Capitalism dictates that nobody is forcing anyone to pay what I am asking and conversely that I am not bound to sell anything for what someone else thinks it's worth.

 

I submit to you that there have been very few Tac-2 joysticks for sale on the atariage marketplace---infinitely less frequent than R5 and R6 carts that sell for that amount. Given that I paid $15 each for them myself a few years back, and that many people claim Tac-2 joysticks are their favorite, I don't see how my post was so far out of bounds that it warranted such a response.

 

I would have taken a different posture had the posts been constructive. Instead they were peppered with "good luck", the rolling eyes emoticon, and "oops, did I post that". Just because someone is a longstanding member doesn't mean their posts are respectful or worthy of respect in return.

 

Whatever, have fun not selling them.
