That's good news! Looks like MS is trying to go head to head with that PS3 redesign/price cut.

didn't we know about this for a while as part of phasing out the pro? I guess it was unconfirmed before

I'm actually a bit surprised it's not going lower, especially if it's true what the spy reports are saying about ps3 slim being launched at that $299 price too.

 

I guess they're thinking the less expensive 360 builds are where their bargain market would go anyway.

Yeh, if the PS3 releases at $300, I' get one for a BR player (and may pick up a game or two) if the Elite drops to $300, I'll certainly be getting a new one, been having problems with my 360 as of late.

 

Seriously, I don't seee MS NOT having a price drop when Sony drops their price.
