16-bit #1 Posted August 21, 2009 Anyone else here looking forward to Forza 3? The more I read and watch about it, the more exicited I get. 400 cars and 100 tracks. According to the video on XBL it's coming on 2 disks. The first one is the game and the second disk is all the extra content. They're also going to include some SUV's in the lineup of vehicles, which is something I always liked in PGR2. Here's some info for those who want to check it out: Forza 3 site
moycon #2 Posted August 21, 2009 Anyone else here looking forward to Forza 3? The more I read and watch about it, the more exicited I get. I think Reaperman is pretty dang excited for the game!! He's snagging the PS3 version though I think. Me personally, I'm not SUPER excited only because I'm not a HUGE racing fan. I will get it if I ever wear out my copy of Forza 2. I only played it for a brief time, but hope to re-visit it eventually. I've heard it's really good. Maybe then I'll get excited.
MetalSlime23 #3 Posted August 21, 2009 Oh HELL YES! I already pre-ordered this and paid for it in full.
Video #4 Posted August 21, 2009 The game looks so cool, I'd love to get a copy, but I hear the other one will fry your X-box (don't know if there's any truth to that, but eh, didn't want to take a chance) Is there anything to the Frozakilled my X-box stuff? If not I'd have to go pick up the older games first.
16-bit #5 Posted August 21, 2009 I think Reaperman is pretty dang excited for the game!! He's snagging the PS3 version though I think. ... Huh?? Are you thinking GT5? The game looks so cool, I'd love to get a copy, but I hear the other one will fry your X-box (don't know if there's any truth to that, but eh, didn't want to take a chance) Is there anything to the Frozakilled my X-box stuff? If not I'd have to go pick up the older games first. I don't know. I never really heard much about it. Though, I would imagine if there was a problem like that in Forza 2, they would have fixed it in 3.
Reaperman #6 Posted August 21, 2009 I think Reaperman is pretty dang excited for the game!! He's snagging the PS3 version though I think. ... Huh?? Are you thinking GT5? yeah, I'm a pretty big GT5 whore this time around. I did buy their system especially for it, and they were nice enough to support my current wheel selection. But this is certainly a good year with both games so close to release. Both series have really been pushing eachother pretty well. Their feature lists are both starting to look pretty similar. last gen I was a big Forza1 fan. I liked how the cars turned in to corners with more fluidity and the game had a really nice vehicle class/upgrade system. This time around, I'm liking Forza3's interior views, enhanced damage, and expansion of its already popular online community. And then there's smaller details like skidmarks, user customizable livery and porsches, that I don't think GT's sporting quite yet. It'll be a trip seeing them going head to head on InsideSimRacing.tv
moycon #7 Posted August 21, 2009 Huh?? Are you thinking GT5? Oh, no. I was just refering to Reaper past comments about being able to roll cars in Forza 3. He's very destructive don't you know!!!? LOL J/K His past comments just sounded like he was going to be keeping a close eye on this title and since he responded to this thread, I think it proves that! IronMongeR #8 Posted August 22, 2009 I have preordered the collectors edition, which has extra cars, memory stick, keyring and bunch of other stuff. Forza 1 & 2 are among my favourite racing games, purely for the online racing. Having recently played through GT5 Prolouge, I gotta say I'm much more excited about Forza 3 than GT5. (But I'll still get both )
Atariboy #9 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) There's no truth to Forza 2 killing consoles. The Xbox 360 is a unrealiable machine prone to failure. With every update and major game release, the software gets falsely blamed by naive users who just happened to have a console failure coincide with a console update or major game. Apok #10 Posted August 22, 2009 Definately pre-oredering Forza 3. I've put alot of hours into Forza 2 and 1. I've heard that there's a new Xbox 360 wheel to go along with it from a 3rd party which will be similar to the Logitech G50/G70 wheel (clutch pedal with a 6 speed shifter). Reaperman #11 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) I've heard that there's a new Xbox 360 wheel to go along with it from a 3rd party which will be similar to the Logitech G50/G70 wheel (clutch pedal with a 6 speed shifter). Fanatec's porsche Turbo S wheel will be compatible with 360 as well as well as standard pc/playstation. (link) It costs a bit more than the G25/G27 ($50 msrp difference, but about $120 street price difference since g25 is more commonly available). I've heard generally positive but a few mixed opinions about Fanatec's recent setups, but generally how much you like their current wheel seems to come down to if you have trouble with their 'wireless' scheme or not. I do have a little experience with Fanatec wheels--for Forza1 I bought the Fanatec speedster3, which was the best wheel available for that game. It was an okay value overall, but it would have been much better if it would have been compatible with playstation/pc like their new one is. I don't know why Forza sticks with Fanatec wheels. It alienates some of their fan base a bit. For example, I'm 'paying a lot of attention' to Forza 3, but since I've got money in my G25 already, to be realistic I'll probably be actually buying Forza 3 early 'next' generation and playing it offline with a standard controller or the old cheapo 360 wheel. Reaperman #12 Posted August 22, 2009 (edited) actually, here's a really good vid of forza3, with the fanatec wheel in action from my favorite online sim reviewers. They were just blown away by it. Edited August 22, 2009 by Reaperman

Cool, good to know it's not likely (well, any more likely) to kill my box than any other game, I'll have to pick one up then.

The game will work just fine with any device that works on the system so a person with a DriveFX will have a wheel that works with Forza 3. If they want to complain they should complain to Logitech for no longer producing a wheel that works with the 360.

IronMongeR #21 Posted October 26, 2009 There's supposed to be a patch coming tomorrow that will fix the broken matchmaking system amongst other things. Hopefully at some point there will be an option for custom public rooms ala Forza 2, because the online in this so far is an absolute joke. I don't know what Turn 10 were smoking when they planned out the online aspect of this game, it's two steps back from Forza 2. I can kinda understand having matchmaking for ranked games... but why REMOVE custom public lobbies? Aside from that beef, the game is awesome!!!!! Tickled_Pink #23 Posted October 27, 2009 I dunno. For me it's a bit bleugh... I've got Forza 2 and, so far, I haven't really been gripped by the Forza 3 demo. Although I do like the massive increase in the number of circuits to race around. I'll pass ... for now. Might get it at some point.
Lastblade #24 Posted November 10, 2009 It is a more polished version of Forza 2. I love F2 so this is even better. I love the point to point racing that was from 1. Some of the tracks are just amazingly beautiful.... 60 FPS just makes everything so smooth. I just can't get enough of it, even when I lose. Oh yah, the rewind is great so if I am running a long race, I don't have to restart all over again. Purist might not like it so don't use it. For me, it is a god send. The only problem I have thus far is the load times, it is pretty bad. I installed it on the hdd and it is a lot better, but still bad.
+Stephen #25 Posted November 14, 2009 I just tried the demo last night and this is definitely the next game I am buying. I just wish I could use my Logitech USB force feedback wheel from the PC with the 360. Stephen Anderson
