FlightSuit #1 Posted August 26, 2009 In less than two hours, I'm being paid to participate in a focus group on the topic of videogames. In order to qualify for the focus group I had to tell a wee fib and claim to be an owner of both the Xbox 360 and PS3. I also claimed that I've purchased roughly twenty games for each console in the last year. So, just in case anybody asks, what are the names of some of the most popular titles for each platform? I've successfully bluffed my way through way more alien terrain than this. Shoot, I used to be a bartender, and I know nothing, and care nothing, about professional sports of any kind. Those customers who engaged me in discussions about things such as Evander Hollyfield and The Forty Niners would never have guessed this. Anyway, I've deduced from the screening questions that they're really not so much interested in my gaming habits per se, as they are in gauging my reaction to some new product which adds DVR functionality to game consoles. Whether this is in the form of a game-console add-on or a whole new console with this capability built in, I can't say.

moycon #5 Posted August 26, 2009 I've mentioned several kick ass games for both systems... many quite recently. As a genius you'll be able to find them.
FlightSuit #6 Posted August 26, 2009 Thank you all for your input! They didn't wind up asking me any questions about which specific games I played. Don't say you heard this from me, but it looks like Microsoft's next revision of the Xbox 360 may possibly have built-in DVR capability, with the ability to transfer content to your Zune. I'm sure the 8 people that own Zune's will really love that feature.
MagitekAngel #8 Posted August 26, 2009 That does it, I'm going to set aside five hundred dollars so I can buy a revised Xbox 360 and a Zune. I'll use my current, never-failed-once Xbox 360 as a bookend, and my iPod as a pocket mirror. And then there were nine...
FlightSuit #9 Posted August 26, 2009 Hah, hah! I am a total Macintosh fanatic, but one night about a year or two ago, I happened to find myself outside an Apple Store, and I happened to have a Sharpie pen in my pocket. So naturally I wrote some graffiti on their front door that said, "Zune rocks!" Please don't tell anybody!
MagitekAngel #10 Posted August 26, 2009 Relax, I am pretty sure Apple would have gone after the eight known Zune customers worldwide. You're safe.

16-bit #12 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) ... I'm sure the 8 people that own Zune's will really love that feature. HEY! My seven other friends and I resent that remark. Relax, I am pretty sure Apple would have gone after the eight known Zune customers worldwide. You're safe. And you sir, are no longer welcome at "the social". moycon #13 Posted August 27, 2009 HEY! My seven other friends and I resent that remark. I have 3 Zunes!! Not sure I'd use any feature that would transfer data from the 360 to the Zune though (I'll assume it's movies you can buy or rent frim Live that you can send to the Zune) *yawn* Since you can rip DVDs, convert them, put them on the zune and output them to a TV right this very second. Transfering files between the two seems kind of meh.

DaytonaUSA #15 Posted August 28, 2009 Just because I'm trying to generate some much needed interest, I have one more game to add: Batman
FlightSuit #16 Posted August 28, 2009 I hope you're not talkin' about that Arkham Asylum mess, 'cause if the full game is anything like the demo I played at Toys R Us... Hoo boy, what a disappointment! Just endless rooms full of the Joker's stooges engaging Batman in fisticuffs. Add that one to the long list of Batman movie tie-in games that super-sucked! No, the demo is just snippets of the game. Trust me the game is down-right amazing.
FlightSuit #18 Posted August 28, 2009 Good to know. The in-store demo makes it seem like a total waste of time.
+Random Terrain #19 Posted August 28, 2009 Good to know. The in-store demo makes it seem like a total waste of time. I played the demo and zipping from gargoyle to gargoyle was pretty fun. I liked hanging down, grabbing a guy and hanging him from a gargoyle. Makes the other bad guys come running to see what happened, so you have to zip out of there before they shoot you. Don't know why a building would have gargoyles on the inside, but it's still fun.
