S1500 #1 Posted August 26, 2009 Many moons ago, I went to the state fair and there was this rather unique coinop where you fly through some tunnel thing. Well, the game broke, and this employee had to come out with a keyboard & mouse. I actually saw it reboot & it was indeed Windows 2000, and she had to go through plenty of "New hardware found" dialogs. So what other coinops ran Windows 2000? Guess that kind of eliminates the need for MAME. Heh.

A lot of newer games run off of similar OS's, like the fast and the furious you can tell that it is an obvious skin of Windows XP as it booted up. All of the mega touch games are based off of linux, the older ones are dos based. Edited August 27, 2009 by keilbaca

Animan #4 Posted September 7, 2009 I saw Guitar Hero Arcade rebooting as Windows XP. Even the Welcome/User Login screen was still there.
