Bryan #3 Posted August 27, 2009 Whew... I'm glad I haven't posted much about my unfinished games. I think I'm I'm going to have to learn Polish to reach the next level of Atari fandom.
+Allan #4 Posted August 27, 2009 It stands as a reminder for me to get off my duff and finish Rasteroids. tjb Please do. It's up to you to correct Atari's mistake of not re-doing Asteroids for the 5200. Allan
Rybags #5 Posted August 27, 2009 I see I get a couple of mentions... might have to dig IM out of the cobwebs some day soon. tjb: I reckon Rasteroids would look great in 480i mode.

Kaz atarionline.pl #8 Posted August 27, 2009 Thanks guys for mention my article. The second part has appeared week later (8th of August 20006): http://atarionline.pl/v01/index.phtml?subaction=showfull&id=1187565735&archive=&start_from=468&ucat=1&ct=nowinki Fortunatly some of these games were finished since 2006 (i.e. Mule Wars!) but I'm afraid we can make a much longer list of unfinished games currently . tjb #9 Posted August 27, 2009 is rasteroids supposed to be a take on the updated asteroids game 'blasteroids' (the imageworks game converted from atari coin op) Not really although I was playing the Amiga version of Blasteroids the other day and it gave me a few ideas. I just wanted to make a game for the Atari 8-bit/5200 that looked a bit closer to the real thing. I also wanted to have powerups and possibly some new obstacles/enemies. tjb

I'd like to see the Pac Land game on A8, ported by Harlequin. Never knew this proto existed.
idavis #11 Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) I didn't see mine on the list, but I might as well update here. I am still working on the Sudoku game. I have it working properly. My main goal has been accomplished, which was to have an Atari generate a valid sudoku puzzle and allow you to play it in under 8k. Right now, it's just some tweaks to the joystick routines, adding in some extra input, and maybe some more flash when you complete the puzzle. I have some easier classes this semester so I might spend more time on the weekends. Right now it's been some late night coding sessions getting the work done. But I am happier with the results now more than ever. Edited August 27, 2009 by idavis

So do I - you try learning another language (last job interview I had to answer questions about c++ in Spanish which took some thinking about). You end up learning one word and forgetting another - and it's never the same word. You end up in the state where you have 2 words for half the objects in your house and none whatsoever for the other half! Biggest problem with Spanish? they're all bloody Z80 fanboys around here

snicklin #14 Posted August 28, 2009 The pinball game in there looks fantastic! I appreciate that it's only a scrolling screen at the moment, but I've always felt that pinball games on the A8 have always been really weak. Just take a look at all of those black and white ones that are all virtually the same and end up on download sites as individual games (a bit like the million+ Boulderdash versions that there are). My only comment to improve the pinball game is to make it 3 screens high if memory allows rather than 2.
