Article: Top 10: Retro Compilations

Recommended Posts

Neat Article; I thought Atari Anthology was kind of meh though. The game roster was solid, but the presentation was sloppy and all those extra games modes were really just a waste of disc space. Would have liked to see some stuff by the other developers, too.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is drool worthy, but I already own all three games, so taking the plunge isn't quite justified. I have the Orange Box though.

Never would have thought to put Super Mario All Stars on that list. That was an incredible package, especially for its time.

Pretty interesting definition of "retro" which allows a Metroid Prime collection and Orange Box to be topping the list.

Where's Midway Arcade Treasures Vol 1? You know, the compilation with Joust, Robotron, Defender, some of the best arcade games of all freakin' time!

How about Namco Museum and it's little titles like PAC-MAN? What about Taito Legends? What about Activision Anthology? What about Gradius Collection for the PSP?

Since Orange Box is included, why not Castlevania: Dracula X for the PSP (including 2 versions of Dracula X as well as Symphony of the Night). Why not Tekken 5 since it has Tekken 1, 2, and 3 on the disc as well as Starblade?

Whatever happened to Atari Retro Classics on the DS. That option for graffiti graphics just makes it worth it (and multiplayer, if only it was Wi-Fi with audio chat).

Also, Let's not forget TV Boy...
