Mighty Mouse - Pirate cart?

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Anybody familiar with this? There are a bunch of these type of games in box at the local Value Village. Are they pirates?

Depends on price. If you can get them for under $20 each, then you are doing good

Only $3.99 each, so, I might as well then.

Yeah, pretty much any CIB Atari 2600 cart you find that you do not recognize and only costs $3.99 I would say buy it! You will not loose money on it, I'll put it that way ;)

Nice. Thanks for your help everyone!

I also picked up these two titles: Busy Police and Persian Gulf War.

Great find!

While I don't remember seeing any of them in the store myself, it is widely believed that these "pirate" carts were sold by Zellers in the 1980s (and possibly even later). I don't think the original manufacturer has ever been ascertained.

I have "Challenge" myself, but only the cartridge -- no box or manual.

These are the last of the bunch that I just picked up today. Attached is another pic.

It's funny; I'm no collector so I'm just going to store them in a container.

I've also attached a pic of an instruction sheet that is included with the game.

Now that Tank City is interesting! Its box resembles the Hi-Score boxes from Australia. Is there a manufacturer credited on that box?

Cheers,

Hi Marco,

I don't see a manufacturer name on the box.

However, it does read: Use joystick controllers for use with Funvison , Atari VCS

Hi all,

I decided to go back to Value Village today and lo and behold, three more were on the rack. They must have realized that they were all selling so the raised the price to $7.99--sneaky. Oh well, I picked them up anyway and here are the pix.

Cool! Well, I guess that's one more strike for the One Hong Kong Producing Plant theory :)

Cheers,

Marco

I have seen them use this tactic before at the Value Village. I would continue to check there on a daily basis, or even better try to scan out a nice employee :) and ask them to go out back to see if they have any more games in stock. I have tried this on a couple of occassions and was able to score a big lot of games at a decent price. Just a suggestion. I can remember these games being sold at Zellers and I have a few boxed myself. What province are you in? Excellent find for you; congrats!! Have a good one! Cheers, FB

Great.

They almost got the complete series.

Good to see the packaging and artwork is consistent.

They match with the ones already in our database.

I'll go back to V.V. today and do what you suggested. If only I could gain access to the back! I live in B.C.

I'll keep everyone updated if I find more
