nathanallan #1 Posted September 6, 2009 Today at the shop "Sonic Girl" was playing Pac Man on the Genesis, and their thumbs were getting tired very quick. I got them to use a CX-40 (after starting the game with a pad for the Start button) and they loved it. The game was more fun that way, they said. Great port of the game, and the Atari joystick rocks on it. Had to pass it on. Sonic Girl is the little girl playing Sonic in one of my videos on youtube with her friend's brother. to that particular vid.

That's OK, the CX40's are quiet durable so it shouldn't matter to much ....or I guess I should say....the CX40's that survived to get this old are quiet durable Maybe you could hack a 2600 NESClone that looks just like a CX40, but has extra buttons and probably a more durable build inside (as they are aimed at kids, though us geezers are more likely to buy them )
nathanallan #6 Posted September 7, 2009 That's an idea. For use on the Genny it would be nice if it had a start button and two more as well. There are so many possibilities with the CX-40 I could go on all day. That other thread with the title "Atari joystick evolved" or somesuch would be nice. Or use a Jakk's all in one just to get button holes (and I wouldn't feel bad about gutting those).
