STICH666 #1 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) I was watching a documentary on National Geographic when I notice one of the people who was formerly Amish started hooking up a Saturn and played possibly one of the worst ports of Over World Extreme. I just thought it was funny. It starts at 7 minutes in. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qzavad3mQt4&feature=related Edited September 6, 2009 by STICH666

Hey you could go stand on the street corners around the Amish settlement with a big overcoat and velcro PSP and DS Lite systems into it... Hey kid... three rugs and a pie for a PSP. 2600Lives #7 Posted September 7, 2009 I live about 30 minutes from a HUGE Amish settlement. They sell cheese and pies from an old converted barn, and it's on the way when I travel to my mom's, so I sometimes stop there and get something. They're very polite, but damn, is it obvious they just want you to buy your stuff and bugger off. There's also a little grocery store on the way that's close to my mom's place, so we used to shop there sometimes. They have a hitching post right in the front of the store, and it was almost a guarantee there'd be a wagon and a horse team tied to it.

Yeah, I've kinda noticed an air of xenophobia whenever I visit sheltered communities like the Amish. They don't want to be tainted by outside influences and the less contact they have with outsiders the better. Even overhearing something you say while you're shopping that goes against their beliefs can influence them so they would prefer, as you say, that you just buy what you want and leave as quickly as possible taking all your evil influences with you.
