jeremysart #1 Posted September 6, 2009 (edited) I scored a Plieades cabin in exchange for doing a Tattoo.. Pheonix was always one of my favorite arcade games growing up, but I DO NOT remember Plieades.. when I got the cabin, it was in working order, it just needed a good cleaning.. but instead I gutted it to turn it into a MAME arcade What did I do!? Why didn't I look it up first? Thats not like me Oh well.. i'll have it boot up to Plieades, and i'll make a new Marquee for it. I DO still have the game board, and all of the parts I removed. Let this be a lesson, research before action! (7:00 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyTBZ8MCGHk ) Edited September 6, 2009 by jeremysart

MagitekAngel #3 Posted September 7, 2009 At least the cabinet's being put to good use. At least you're not one of those people who throws videogame equipment in the garbage. No point beating yourself up over it; you even kept all the important parts!
CGQuarterly #4 Posted September 7, 2009 Can't you just put it back together? Did you destroy something? Chris
Jess Ragan #5 Posted September 7, 2009 Seems like a sensible course of action to take. Pleiades really bites. It takes all the choppiness of Phoenix, then takes out everything that made it fun.
jeremysart #6 Posted September 7, 2009 Good point. I do still have all the parts if I ever want to re-assemble it. and Jess, it was no $3000 machine, it was not in the greatest condition. I was filled with mouse poop and spiders and dust, the marquee was all busted up, and the rubber pin stripe on one side is missing. I am going to put it to use though. I am going to make a new Plieades marquee, and make it the game the system boots too, plus it will play more games. Also, I am going to replace the screen with something along the lines of a 20" flat lcd monitor. I just got bummed when I looked it up and realized how popular this particular Cabin is.. it even has its own wiki page :!:

Get one of those video cards that output to RGB for arcade monitors, CRT will look way way better than any LCD.
CGQuarterly #8 Posted September 7, 2009 Well you could always do a restoration job on the cabinet and then sell it. Then you could use the money to build a nice MAME cab. And like Spazmonkey said, do NOT use an LCD monitor. RGB arcade monitor is the only way to go. Chris
