Mana Khemia 2: The Fall of Alchemy

Having enjoyed the first one a lot, I picked this up last friday but didn't get a chance to put it in the PS2 until monday.

 

When I play it on my TV, the sound is horrible. Voices and music sound are staticy and the like. Since I had just finished moving the TV prior to hooking it up I thought I might have damaged it somehow but after popping in Ar Tonelico and listening to the sound on that for a bit, it didn't seem similarly affected.

 

Has anyone else who owns the North American release of the game find anything similar?

 

Seriously, it sounded bad to me. I went through the intro of the game (About half an hour it seems) and turned it off after reaching the first available save spot... :/
