I just got an Atari 2600 game at the Big E !

Recommended Posts

I go to the Big E every year. It's a huge fair for all the New England states in Springfield Mass.

This year I'm walking over to the Midway to put my kids on some rides and there is a classic video game shop! Seriously!

The best part is that there was a game I didn't have. I grabbed a NTSC Telegames Baseball. All 2600 games were $7.00 and there were definitely some good ones that were worth $7. (And a ton that weren't.) I left a bunch for whoever is next.

The guy is pretty clueless though, which was a bit sad. He told me he has a ton more Atari games back in his shop. He told me of a $800.00 game he had in a box. The game is called Beat 'Em and Eat 'Em. icon_rolleyes.gif

He also has a loose cart called Chase the Chuckwagon for $500.00 icon_rolleyes.gif

I attempted to educate him, but he was set in his ways. Anyway, for $7 you can still grab a Star Wars Arcade, Entombed, almost every CBS game, and a bunch of other $7.00 worthy games.

He had some Colecovision as well. Lots of Nintendo (NES up to N64) and a small selection of this gen stuff. I picked up an AC adapter to test out a few NES systems I have for $10... But the important part here is...

I found a game I didn't have! In the wild! At the freakin' Big E!

A Maine Baked Potato.

A Cream Puff.

Lobster Roll.

Clams.

And a brand new Atari Game for my collection.

That's a good day. icon_mrgreen.gif

Very cool. I bet that is the same guy who used to have a booth at the indoor flea market on Rt. 66 in Middletown. I never actually bought anything from him, but looked through his crates a few times. I think he was asking $6 each back then...

He says he has a shop in Pennsylvania, but it might be the same guy. When you walk in the door, he was in the far left corner ? It did look like him come to think of it.

Yeah, he had the caged in booth. I never bought anything from him, but got a bunch of good carts from the guy next to him (at much lower prices.)
