Atari 1050 disk drive question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Can someone tell me how to change the drive number on 1050 disk drive? there are some switches in the back of the drive.

I have been looking all over and I can't find any info.

Thank you

Switches at the back, yes - accessed through a small hole.

Wow - I even have the original colour manual for the drive.

Both left = Drive 1, White left, Black right, white left = 2

Both right = 3, Black left, white right = 4

Thank you for the info...

I just got SIO2PC and I'm trying to copy DOS disk from PC to Real Drive, I hope it works.

Nothing better then playing games on original hardware

Hi MEtalGuy66,

I got interest in Atari for few years now - ST and 8bit, Amiga+C64 since 1990.

I like to tinker with the old stuff for fun, little distraction from modern PCs.

The SIO2PC is a neat device, load games from PC or write it the real disk, cool stuff. Finally got it to work with a real drive. Thanx to Rybags for his input.

Other cool stuff, I was able to convert CAS files to WAV, then play it back from MP3 player to the tape drive, I used cassette converter. I works very nice.

Playing back WAV files on C64's tape drive does not work as well as the Atari, most games I have tried, pause few times during playback, I need to pause the MP3 player at the right time...anyway it's fun

On Amiga, got some ADF files, copy to CF Card, read it on A1200 with PCMCIA to CF card and convert it to a real disk.
