Question about the Logo

Recommended Posts

I know this will be obvious to you Jaguar owners... unfortunately I'm not one of them..

What causes the red jaguar screen, (red background) ?

When does the normal logo, (with the Atari falling letters and spinning cube) appear?

What happens after the spinning cube is done?

Thanks

- Robert

The red screen means that the game hasn't loaded correctly (dirty cart slot, dirty cart edges, loose connector)

The normal logo will show if the game loads correctly, after the spinning cube it generally goes to the loading screen for that game.

The red screen means that the cartridge authentication check failed. With an official cartridge or a properly made homebrew one, it almost aways means dirty contacts or bad connections.

The Atari logo and the spinning cube appear after the authentication check succeeds. After they disappear, the 68000 starts running code from the cartridge, usually at address $802000.
