+DamonicFury #1 Posted September 24, 2009 I've recently become addicted to a great iPhone game called Squareball. The graphics are very reminiscent of early 2600 games, featuring just a ball (square, of course) and colored blocks. The game consists simply of scrolling the playfield in a way so that the ball hits all the green blocks. Doing so completes a level, and sends you to a harder one. You lose a life if the ball hits a red block or a hole in the playfield. There are also pink and blue blocks that can be hit for bonus points. The game has that perfect Atari "just one more game" feel to it. Anyone else tried this yet?

Video #3 Posted September 24, 2009 Not sure which controller would work here best. That's the AWESOMEIST THING EVEAH!!! Man, now I wish I had an Iphone (oh well, it'll come to another system Uh...if this was made for the 2600, I'd streight buy it. As for comtroller, well, I'd say the Driving controller is the only real way to do it, joystic would allow for slow/fast movement of the playfield, but I can already see that a s a problem in some cases, and paddles stop (which would severely limite the size of the playfield) Vertical scrolling, yeah, horizontal....not so much, though I guess as simple as it is, it could be done with 2 overlayed sprites for red/green pieces.... Thomas Jentzsch #4 Posted September 24, 2009 ...paddles stop (which would severely limite the size of the playfield) There are two ways how do interpret the paddle. 1. paddle position = sprite position (e.g. Kaboom!) 2. paddle position = speed With option 2, you could perfectly scroll left and right at varying speeds. Video #5 Posted September 25, 2009 Yeah, I thought about that after posting but was like "ef feck it" Oh, and Trackballs, but if you're going to do it, do it for a controller that's a bit more common (I have one, but it was a pain to find, and I know few that have them)
