MN12BIRD #7 Posted September 27, 2009 Don't forget Snatcher, Adventures of Willy Beamish and Rise of the Dragon if you like your point and click adventures.
shadow460 #8 Posted September 27, 2009 One of the adventures on Shining Force CD is Shining Force Gaiden II. I've played it on the Game Gear, and it was a lot of fun. How's that 32X Doom, does it look like the PC version or is it smoother? The PC version made me motion sick.
Rev. Rob #9 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) There are a lot of good suggestions in this thread, so I'll limit my reply to just the ones missing. Sega CD: Snatcher - This is the best game for Sega CD, IMO. It's by Hideo Kojima, and it's excellent work. 32X: Knuckles' Chaotix Blackthorne Kilibri I'd stay far away from Zaxxon, though. @shadow460 The 32X version will make you sick too. It's not a particularly good port, (obvious rush job), but it does do the whole "walking motion" thing with the camera. Edited September 27, 2009 by Rev. roland p #10 Posted September 27, 2009 Don't forget Snatcher, Adventures of Willy Beamish and Rise of the Dragon if you like your point and click adventures. I agree. Altough I haven't played other cd titles, Snatcher alone makes the system worth owning.
Reaperman #11 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) for segacd, I'd point out sonic cd and lunar (don't play the second lunar before the first). for 32x, shadow squadron is about the most fun there is to be had. for 32x/cd there's always night trap--it's an especially good version. I've never played snatcher because it's way too expensive, but --somebody correct me if I'm wrong here-- the copy protection on cd games is non-existant Edited September 27, 2009 by Reaperman
Asaki #12 Posted September 27, 2009 (edited) Other games that were not mentioned: *Out of This World/Heart of the Alien, AFAIK, the only place you can play the sequel.*Road Rash, not as good as the 32-bit versions, but a no-brainer if you liked the cart games...and unlike the 32-bit ones, you can listen to the grunge soundtrack WHILE YOU RACE.*Bari-Arm, though I think this was mentioned already under an alternate title.*Ecco 1 and 2, more levels and better music than the cart versions.*Earthworm Jim SE, ditto ^*Batman Returns, they added crazy awesome driving sequences between levels, and again with the music.*Adventures of Batman and Robin, like an all-driving, no platform version of the above, except even harder >_< With cool cutscenes from the creators of the animated series.*NHL 94, if you're into sports games at all.*Mickey Mania, tough as nails though. Seriously.*Mansion of Hidden Souls (E), I liked the Saturn sequel when I was younger, this one's just as weird.*Sega Classics, handy if you're missing any of the carts, but the Golden Axe here is crippled.*Sega Game Can 1 and 2 (J), neat collection of stuff that was originally downloadable over Sega MegaNet.*Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, eh, why not? It's better than the SNES/GBA version. Someone already said The Terminator, but I really need to second this. It's the only version of the game I've actually liked, and I like it a whole lot. Silas Warner worked on this one. I would also like to reiterate Final Fight (best home port), Slipheed, Dungeon Explorer, Night Trap, Popful Mail, and definitely Snatcher. Tr3vor #15 Posted September 30, 2009 if i were you, i wouldnt get Doom for the 32x: its music sounds like a bunch of farting (no, really it does) its missing about half of the levels the SNES version is better.

Those are my top 2 reasons to own a Sega CD. I loved OOTW, and Heart of the Alien gives the series closure. IMO the cinematic scenes and rotoscoping graphics still hold up quite well. And Road Rash with the grunge soundtrack while playing is a no brainer.
gdement #19 Posted October 1, 2009 (edited) The PS1 version is pretty cool.... Whats Dark Wizard like? It's a turn-based strategy war game with RPG type elements. Your characters gain experience and you can buy them weapons and such. There's a lot of variety of who's strong against who, movement speed over different terrain, etc. I liked it, but playing just 1 battle in that game took me forever.
