Benihana #1 Posted September 29, 2009 I got a hold of a copy of TCM from a guy who wanted to unload a bunch of games. Looked like he had kept the atari and all the games in a closet for years...I only picked up a couple games. It loads up and plays the game. The only reason I am questioning the reality of it is because the end label and the front label is double thick and off center. I can tell that there is another label under the end label...it is the same color. The front label is off centered on the cart and also looks like the bottom label is the same color as the top. I was hoping that somebody here could tell me by looking at my pics...don't think you will be able to see the double label, but maybe by looking at the cart you will be able to help... Thanks for the info... Photobucket is down. I posted the pics to my profile album. Thanks again...

Benihana #4 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Umm, O.k. I know they were out of focus, but at 11:00 at night after a 12 hour shift, what more do you want. All the guys over at Nintendo Age are more than helpful and sent me this way hoping for the same... So we will try this again... Thanks Edited September 29, 2009 by Benihana
Benihana #5 Posted September 29, 2009 If you look close on the front label, you can see the double label in the top right corner... It is also off center with the bottom left coming out off the recess for the sticker. The end label also looks off center...moved to the right, no really centered in the recess for the label. Almost looks like they were put on in a hurry...by hand... I do know that Wizard video games only had two carts, did they not have a manufacturing line... Herbarius #6 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Maybe someone removed the label once, perhaps to open the cartridge, and that's why it's not properly aligned. Are you sure there is a second label underneath or could it just be a thicker label paper... Or maybe a previous owner printed new labels himself, because the old ones were damaged? Also, it being a Wizard Videogames game, I wouldn't really be surprised if they released it like this. Edited September 29, 2009 by Herbarius
CincYnoTi #7 Posted September 29, 2009 It has been documented in the past, that some Wizard carts will have double labels. Yours looks authentic. So if you can figure out how to remove the top label (apply heat, gently remove), you could sell one of the duplicate labels. Someone that owns one of those without a label might be interested. Although, I think Halloween without a label is much more common than a TCM without a label.
Rom Hunter #8 Posted September 29, 2009 (edited) Looks genuine to me. Here's the original: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?TYPE_IMG=CART&ID=14687&MENU=2&NUM_IMAGE=4 Edited September 29, 2009 by Rom Hunter
CPUWIZ #9 Posted September 29, 2009 Maybe someone removed the label once, perhaps to open the cartridge, and that's why it's not properly aligned. Would make little sense, since there is no screw in Wizard carts.
Benihana #10 Posted September 29, 2009 Yeah, I can see a second label under both the end label and the front label...as you can see, the edges are peeling up and I can look through them as see another label underneath.. I don't think I would want to attempt to take the label off...they are stuck together and I think I would do more damage than good... Thanks for the great help Herb and Cinc... this is the kind of help I was hoping form.
Benihana #11 Posted September 29, 2009 Looks genuine to me. Here's the original: http://www.atarimania.com/zoom_frame.php?TYPE_IMG=CART&ID=14687&MENU=2&NUM_IMAGE=4 So the front label is supposed to be all pixolated like that... I was wondering if that was printed on a home computer or not...
Atari Dogs #12 Posted September 29, 2009 Plus, it is in the correct type of case. Most hacks I see are put in regular Atari type cases - They are the most common type.
pinball22 #13 Posted September 29, 2009 Yeah, I can definitely see in the upper right where there's a 2nd label underneath, but as Cincy said, that's not unheard of. I can't say for sure it's real, but nothing about it is blatantly wrong.
