Zoyx #3 Posted September 29, 2009 Interesting. Was the CX-10 more rugged? Looks better built.
Cebus Capucinis #4 Posted September 29, 2009 Interesting. Was the CX-10 more rugged? Looks better built. The CX-10 does seem to stand up to wear a lot better IMHO. The ones I have still work beautifully, but the additional spring piece does have problems once in a while.

I only have 3 cx-10's then out of 20 sticks. thanks
chriswhit #6 Posted October 2, 2009 what about the driving paddles and the double tennis ones?
homerwannabee #7 Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) what about the driving paddles and the double tennis ones? The double tennis ones are the easiest to tell if they are Heavy Sixer. If they say Atari, or Sears instead of Paddle on them, then you know they are Heavy Sixer. Edited October 2, 2009 by homerwannabee
shadow460 #8 Posted October 2, 2009 There are different guts in those, too. I can't really explain it, but the earlier encoders used in the Driving controllers are very different from later ones. Later ones had all the guts inside a plastic enclosure. Also the contacts on early ones had a tighter feel to them. Of course, the eraly Driving controllers and Paddles had Atari or Sears logos on them. I wouldn't worry much about the guts of early paddle controllers. You might wind up replacing the pots someday, so it won't matter what was in them to begin with.
