The next K.O. Game - you decide

Hey everyone,

 

So far, I've been able to use to my boxing engine to create two games: K.O. Cruiser and AVGN K.O. Boxing.

 

Its time for another one! So, I would like to know what my fellow retro gamers think.

Ah, the arcade version seems to be winning at the moment. I've already draw sprites for:

• FBI Agent - E.T. (he can have a move where he just takes your life, hee hee)
  
• Baker (Pepper)
  
• Pitfall Harry - He is modeled after the Pitfall games on Atari; not the NES atrocity.
  
• Paddle
  
• Thief - Kaboom, Keystone Cops
  

 

What others do you guys think would be good?

I'm surprised there isn't more support for the Warriors theme - especially when Leonidas of Sparta would be one of the boxers.

Maybe you should rename the Arcade Legends to Atari Legends. Only 2 of the characters are actually arcade characters. Well I guess 3 since they did release Pitfall 2 as an arcade game.

 

I like the Warriors idea myself.

Ah! The Three Stooges called Hitler "Shickle-gruber". It probably came from a similar source.

I made two more drawings in case the Atari Stars one wins (which is definitely in the lead).

 

The spaceman can fight for all the "space" games - there are too many to list! I also drew a cowboy based on the cover art of Outlaw. This sprite can fight for Outlaw (naturally), Stampede, and Gunfight.

What about a rock star boxing game? Alice Cooper, Axl Rose, Slash, Blackie Lawless, or Zakk Wylde and Ozzy? That might be kinda hard to make look right though. It would still be a fun idea though.

And watch out for Dig Dug's special move! He will pump you up until you explode!

I like the idea of adding the Kangaroo! We already had a great sprite designed!

 

Anyway, I want to steer pretty clear of the licenced characters - at least in name. It is far better to have "Adventurer" rather than Pitfall Harry. It also allows us to include more than one game. i.e. "Adventurer" can fight for the honor of Pitfall and Jungle Hunt.

 

Oh, I think "Adventurer" will be the most fun if the just hops around with the old sound effect....

I can only get two colors per line - and one cannot span more than 4 pixels from the leftmost to the rightmost.

 

Most rock stars have that long hair that makes it quite difficult to draw.
