STICH666 #1 Posted October 4, 2009 Hey guys. Post how far your collection has grown. Mine went from this. (one month after I started collecting but sadly the only pic I could find) To this. (date at bottom left)
shadow460 #2 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Mine has grown from enough games to fill a couple CD cases and a briefcase to over 700 games and 22 systems. I had six N64 games, 10 2600 games and one Supercharger, and less than a dozen each PS1 and Saturn games. Of those, only the 2600 games had instructions. I also had a small collection of PC games and one Sonic 2 for my one Game Gear. Few of my games were particularly rare or valuable, and probably the only ones that were either were Rabbit Transit, The Official Frogger by Sega, Party Mix, Christmas NiGHTS, and Final Fantasy 7. The only rare or valuable controller I owned at the time was one very dusty, very unused Saturn Twin Stick that I had imported from Japan. I threw the box away a long time ago. Bear in mind this isn't when I started collecting, this is just the lowest point of my collection after it had been ravaged by life. The first time around mine and my family's collection at various times included several boxed NES titles (I've got several of those now but the only one that we had before and I have now is Top Gun 2), many boxed PS1 titles (most of these have been replaced), the full set of Starpath games, 1 to 10 with instructions (which I still have to this day), a Stunner and a Virtua Gun for the Saturn (I still have these), boxes for ALL of the N4 games (now I've only a few boxes, only Perfect Dark is the same), a huge pile of Game Boy titles with instructions (most have been replaced but have no instructions), several import Game Boy titles, boxes for almost all my PC games including UT '99 and Emperor: Battle for Dune, several Dreamcast titles CIB including a blue Hydro Thunder that worked (all have been replaced), and a handful of PS2 titles CIB (all have been replaced except the book to Arctic Thunder). Divorce and losing a house ripped through this collection like a scythe, bringing my collection to its lowest point ever. I have replaced most of it with identical items and added a few things along the way. Now the showpieces of my collection still include those 10 2600 games and Arcadia Supercharger, plus my LaserActive, some 2600 prototypes that I've picked up, the roughly 50% complete CIB 7800 collection, some numbered 7800 carts including Beef Drop (94), Missing In Action (32), and Space Invaders (19), my Sears Heavy Sixer and the huge pile of picture label carts to match it. I'd say I have instructions for about half of my games. The ones most lacking in instructions are the Game Boy and Game Gear lines--I've got maybe a dozen books between them both. I also have some rare controllers like the Pioneer controller for the Sega pack, two Sony mice with pads for the PS1, a Sega keyboard, and a Sony Dual Analog pad (very different from the Dual Shock), and the Saturn Twin Stick for Virtual On. I had the chance to pick up a Sony Flight Stick for $30, but like a fool I passed on it. My game collection before stopped at the PS2 since it was one of the newest systems out. It pretty much stops there anyway with the exception of a couple PC game like Jedi Outcast and the addition of two PSP systems plus game, music, and movie UMDs to go with them. I don't have current pics of the collection because I am too lazy to take any. I do keep a relatively current catalog of everything which is a combo catalog and want list. It does not include my Master System games or my Lynx games yet, and I need to do a bit of updating. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. There are enough words in that catalog to make several pictures. Edited October 4, 2009 by shadow460
