Bleem woulda kicked ass, A few people even said it did a better job of upscaleing, smoothing, or whatever, than the PS2 does. (I never saw any of the early stuff, and never got around to getting the finely released discs, as I wasn't interested in the games)

I was really excited when it was first announced, I could get rid of my constantly breaking down PSX system and move to the DC, that would rule. And I wasn't even a fan of the DC at the time (though I couldn't for the life of me see it being any less reliable than the PSX systems were, or maybe I just had bad luck with them :P )

Of course, they lost me, and most of the fans of the thing when they started talking about cutting it up into "packs" due to "compatibility" (translation, "wow, people are so excited about this, lets break it up and really gouge them" ) And it only went down hill from that point on.

Honestly, I would have rather seen it released without full compatibility, than not at all, as it might have well have been. Comeon, 3 games? All of which the DC had better versions of the genera on it already.

This is an interesting thread. Not a high score club but a weekly review it looks like.

I have really grown to love the Dreamcast. It just has so much that great accomplishments like network connection, emulation of about every Atari system and many others, and other great accomplishments is basically met with "Of course it can do that."

And light gun games... wow.

So Bleemcast... nice. You know I can play the first level of BUBSY 3D with that before it errors out. But still interesting. Like many, wish that project had gone further, but glad that version leaked out.

I never bothered to look into it, but I know the DC emu scene kept going after the system was axed. Did anyone else try to pursue a better PSX emu with greater compatibility for the DC?

I do remember Bleem! for the PC and I had the DC packs. I never used it much on the DC, although now I have the original MGS again, maybe I should snag a copy. The PC version was god-awfully buggy, but hey, for the time, there wasn't anything else quite like it on store shelves. ;)

Ya, one write up per week, for 52 weeks celebrating the 10th year of Dreamcast's launch.

I have just one question: Why oh why would ANYBODY want to play Busby 3D? :o

Earlier this week, I bought Super Magnetic Neo and Toy Commander on the strength of these reviews. So far, I'm liking both of them!

June 12, monthly bump. Anyone heard from him? Is he okay?

his profile says he was active yesterday...

Maybe he just lost interest.

I noticed the same thing the last time we asked about it..

Would anyone want to take over for him? How would you guys feel about that? This was a good thread, no sense to just let it die out.. There is plenty more DC goodness to be shown.

Maybe he ran out of games? :P I mean, part of the appeal of this thread for me, was the fact that I have so few games for the system (due to being a bit leery of it and not buying it until it was on it's deathbed  )

Other wise, I got both Sonic Adventures, both Crazy Taxies (and those are enough to justify the console IMO ) and other than that, I got NFL2k, Grench, and Tombraider, so it's not going to be me :P

Yeah, I hope Rob's OK.

I do not have enough DC games to fill out the year, plus they are really hard to find around here. I'd love to do it, I am already doing my PS2 project that is similar.

Anybody else?

Rev?

Things have been heavy in the "real life" and such. But I assure you, I didn't run out of games, and I'm totally okay. :)

I feel bad for dropping the ball on this. I should get right back on that!

Awesome to hear you're OK, I know how real life is, it sucks, that's why I drown my sorrows in the internet....I mean....I don't have a problem, I can quit any time I want....I just don't want to right now :P Maybe I'll start quitting tomorrow :P

I do look forward to when you get more time to do somemore reviews.
