Baby Mac #1 Posted October 18, 2002 Hi Guys, Have noticed lately a few members from australia are starting to pop up on this board. I would like to know if they have any difficulty finding hardware/games for the VCS like I do? My biggest haul was today in which i found the following: 6 Switch VCS 2 x 2600 Jr. 2 x Joysticks 2 x Paddles (One is missing knob on top). But apart from this, I am finding it very hard to find carts or controllers in the wild, with my last find about 6 months ago. Is everyone else from Aus having the same trouble and needing to resort to ebay? Thanks.
DeV0 #2 Posted October 18, 2002 Hi Baby mac I have been extra lucky in my finds, especially for atari gear. Ive only been to townsville once and dont really know my way around. I drove from sydney and checked out alot of vinnies and cash converters on the way, I saw alot of stuff but wasnt collecting at that time. Over the past 3 weeks ive managed to get about 70 2600 games, a working commodore 64 a coleco and games etc. My best advise is the flea markets, check out whats on where you live and go for it, Also cash converters. I found the smaller towns seem to be better than the big smoke as well, It seems alot of people have cottoned on here and joined the eghey wagon of joyful rip offs. Baby Mac #3 Posted October 18, 2002 Thanks for the info Dev0, much appreciated. Not too many flea markets here, will try some more garage sales though... As for Cash converters, you are very lucky to have ones that stock 2600 games, i got laughed at. BTW, was it you that posted about the easy availability of Atari Logo t-shirts? Im struggling to find one as well
Happy_Dude #4 Posted October 18, 2002 I belive i posted something about atari shirts. In the markets Sydeny is you best bet. Theyre probably rip-offs but if you can find an official atari logo shirt id like to know where you get it. I picked up this nice Atari breifcase at a garage sale, filled with games and 2 2600jr's. And yeah cashies dosen't really stock atari stuff but try some smaller 2nd hand places. My local pawn shops almost owe their livlihood to me DeV0 is you C64 a brown one. DeV0 #5 Posted October 18, 2002 Baby mac General pants where selling the atari shirts but had to withdraw due to legal reasons, So dodgy markets are your best bet. You should have laughed back at them and said "at least i dont work for trash converters" Happy dude, did you go to where i said?? There where 100's when i went last time Out of my 4 C64's the latest one that is working is the newer one which is white. All 3 browns live up to their colour as none of them have sound.
