Rev. Rob #1 Posted October 18, 2009 I loved the 3DO version. If I get the Saturn version, is it pretty much the same thing?

I read that the Saturn also has Soundgarden on the sound track? Quiet a few saturn games had CDA on them, and you could just play it in a standard CD player. It could also have it in a sound test screen, or inbetween stages, but I think during the driving it doesn't have any.

The Sega CD even had music while in game.

mattyg #7 Posted October 22, 2009 Many of those EA 3DO games were either designed or redesigned for the 3DO specifically - EVERY example in my opinion (I have tried most of the common games) is better on the 3DO - some things were simply lost in the porting. That goes for both Playstation and Saturn examples.
Rev. Rob #8 Posted October 24, 2009 What makes it even more messed up is that the Sega CD does have the music. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8xByZ-zUF4 I need to get a 3DO.

Gregory DG #10 Posted October 25, 2009 I played the PC version several years back. It was the same as the 3DO version. Can't remember if it had ingame music though. I think it did...
CRV #11 Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) Going through YouTube, I think all the versions except Sega CD have "generic" music in-game. Strange that only the Sega CD version has the licensed stuff playing. Edited October 31, 2009 by CRV

I was just about to say this myself. Is anyone sure that the 3DO version had Soundgarden in game?

Damn that's retarded. The SEGA CD port is great but the framerate really keeps me form enjoying it as much as the 3DO version.
ColecoFan1981 #14 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) I would've liked these 32-bit versions of RR better if they used music from the classic roster of groups that were signed to A&M Records, including the likes of Styx, Supertramp, The Police, and .38 Special. Styx's hard-rockin' songs especially may be a good fit for the RR legacy. Think all the songs written primarily by James "J.Y." Young and/or Tommy Shaw, such as all the selections from the Rockers compilation, like: Midnight Ride Shooz Crystal Ball Miss America Man in the Wilderness Blue Collar Man (Long Nights) Renegade Borrowed Time (co-written and sung by Dennis DeYoung) Eddie Too Much Time on My Hands Snowblind Heavy Metal Poisoning Love is the Ritual Little Suzie And then I have a sampling of other classic A&M artists' songs, like: Do You Feel Like We Do? (live) (by Peter Frampton) The Logical Song (by Supertramp) Goodbye Stranger (by Supertramp) Roxanne (by The Police) Message in a Bottle (by The Police) Driven to Tears (by The Police) Demolition Man (by The Police) Synchronicity II (by The Police) Hold on Loosely (by .38 Special) Caught Up in You (by .38 Special) Back Where You Belong (by .38 Special) More Than Words (by Extreme) Hey Jealousy (by Gin Blossoms) Run-Around (by Blues Traveler) Hook (by Blues Traveler) Lie to Me (by Jonny Lang) Would you have preferred any one or more of songs be made available in the Road Rash 32-bit soundtracks? ~Ben Edited October 6, 2010 by ColecoFan1981

I still have the PC version and IIRC there is in game music. Its been a while but I should pop it in again and give it a go to be sure. I really love that version of Road Rash. Kid Ice #16 Posted October 7, 2010 (edited) In the 3DO version the music does not play during gameplay like the Sega CD version does, just between levels/cutscenes etc. The 3DO version has much better graphics though. btw I mean *no* music, not generic music like some of the other versions. The cutscene music has Soundgarden, Paw, etc. Edited October 7, 2010 by Kid Ice
kool kitty89 #17 Posted October 7, 2010 The PSX and 3DO versions both had CD-DA, but the Saturn and PC versions used synth/MIDI for some reason, but otherwise they're pretty similar overall iirc. (a bunch of minor differences but I forget the details)
