Gunstar #1 Posted October 20, 2002 Does anyone know where I might obtain these LCD shutter stereoscopic glasses and software for them? They used to be sold through the Antic/Start magazine catalog. there were several programs written for them including version of Wanderer and CAD 3D among others...I always wanted a pair of these, but could never afford an ST back in the day, let alone the glasses. They plugged into a cartridge for the ST's cart port and one or two pair of liquid crystal shutter glasses could plug into the cart and stereoscopic vision could be achieved by these LCD "shutter" lenses turning on and off alternately every time the screen refreshed, with two alternating views being shown onscreen each time creating a stereo 3D view of the game/progam. Similiar to the traditional red/blue or red/green (europe) glasses, only much more effective. I wish something like this were available for todays consoles&computers...this would have been very cool on the Jaguar and would probably have been more successful and cheaper to develop than Atari/Virtuality's Virtual headset... Nukey Shay #2 Posted October 20, 2002 There are a number of LCD specs available to current computers...eyeSCREAM is probably one of the more familiar ones (since it works with most 3D apps and games). Didn't know that the ST had one of them.
