FREE: Atari 520ST and 1040STf Computers

Recommended Posts

I cleaned out an old shed of mine today and discovered two Atari ST computers I had forgotten about: a 520ST and a 1040STf. They've been in storage without climate control for several years and are untested; they're yellowed and a bit dirty, and I've noticed some rust on the RF shielding inside. They may work just fine, but I suspect they'd probably be more useful as a source of replacement chips or other parts.

I'm not very knowledgeable about the ST machines and I hate to scrap them, so I am looking to pass them on to someone who might be able to make use of them. If you're interested, all you need to pay is the shipping cost (USPS Parcel Post); just send me your ZIP code and let me know which machine(s) you're interested in so I can get a quote for you. Thanks!

Got mine today - thanks again! Wanted to show how nice it cleaned up. Completely disassembled and gave her a whores bath if you will. Even broke out the old toothbrush for those hard to reach spots! lol The ink damage came right up with this heavy duty cleaner I get at Farm and Fleet called Spray Power. Anyone have a power supply, disk drive and games they wouldn't mind let go on the cheap :-)

Wow, I hardly recognized her! :lust:

Nice job, and good luck finding the parts you need to complete the system!

I hate the term, but that's one sexy computer. Looks a lot like the 8-bit XE series, actually. Atari learned a lot about style in the late 1980s, it would seem. Shame it didn't carry over with the toilet-shaped Jaguar.

How do these machines compare with the Amiga, by the way?
