PokeyDS: Can't get any 5200 games to run

So, I just found about this emulator, but I can't get any of the 5200 games from here to run in it. The emulator allows me to select the bin and the type then goes to the self test screen, and I can't get past that...

 

I know on WiiXL I have to select the cart then warm reboot and it plays fine... is there some step I'm missing here?

 

EDIT: So, after finding there were also 800XL games on here, I tried those and they work...but most are too slow to be playable. So.... maybe the emu isn't worth it in the end. But the coloecovision emu on the same site seems good:)

The emulator is too slow at the moment and the author seems to be focusing on the Dingoo at the moment. He did promise an update in July, but that never materialized

It's a bit slow for most games and ironically considering it's called Pokey, the sound is very annoying. I wish you could at least turn off the worthless sound to bring the games up to full speed.
