I haven't seen any threads for this around here, but it's kind of interesting.

 

Would any of you consider getting one? The pre-orders are $90, so I am thinking that's too much for me, but a little less and I would definitely pick one up.

I'm at a loss here... what does this product achieve? Looks like he was playing DKC through this hacked cartridge/USB computer adapter. Is that the point? To play your real cartridges through a window or full screen on your computer monitor?

Uh....Well, I do like the Idea of using my real carts on the computer (I assume that's what he's supposed to be doing, though it never showsthat at any point, just suggests it) But that doesn't really serve much purpose, and I"m one of the few who would actually be interested in such a product. Especially if I could get it in a 5.25 drive bay format, so I could plug the carts into the front of my computer.

 

Still....your running through an emulator. Using a real rom would mean well, you have a real rom, instead of a downloaded "I don't really have this, but will say I do" rom. But your still playing on an emulator. If it works fast enough to talk to the cart, that would be cool, but your still going to inherit all the ill problems that any emulator has, maybe even more, cause your adding parts between the rom and the emulator.

 

Prove it to work on a smaller scale, like 2600, and I'll get one. Otherwise, it's a bit expensive, and fills a void that really doesn't exist.

Now that I think about it, you're right. Why the hell would I want this?
