VectorGamer #1 Posted October 26, 2009 OK - brace yourselves because it may come as a shock as to what the #1 game is... What does surprise me is how little the 2600 is represented here...Airlock always gets a lot of mention...aside from that, I think I would've included the 5200 port of Gorf... 101 worst games of all time

It is the most famous bad game but there are many more worse games out there. These lists almost always suck.
Rik #3 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Oh geez IMO,its really pointless to say which games are the worse games of all time, there were so many so called bad ones, and everyone has a different opinion of what is a bad game. One mans worse can be another ones best, its all relative.Lists like that are pointless. Pointless to serious collectors anyway, cus usually,a serious collector collects ALL games, bad ones as well. Edited October 26, 2009 by Rik
desiv #4 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) That list is so bad that it's now on my "Top ten worst top ### lists of all time". It's just so wrong on so many levels. I stopped reading it. desiv Edited October 26, 2009 by desiv

Gabriel #8 Posted October 27, 2009 Even if you don't blink about E.T. being number one, you really have to wonder about someone who rates Plumbers Don't Wear Ties as a better game than Dragon's Lair.
SoulBlazer #9 Posted October 27, 2009 I realize these 'best of' and 'worse of' lists are always subjective, and someone will totally agree and someone will totally not agree.... But seriously..... WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY SMOKING????? Not only have I played most of those games, I've liked most of them! Even more, I LOVE about a 1/3 of them! I mean, there's CLASSICS in there! Games I would put on a 'best of' list, not a worst! Granted, there's about...oh, a dozen games that I agree with them on. But this was probaly the worst list I've EVER seen. Remind me not to read anything else from that site again.
atarian63 #10 Posted October 27, 2009 funny on some of those. 7th Guest/ that game in the early days of cd rom sold PC's like nobodys business and it made for a great diag tool. If you were having a hardware or compatibility problem 7th guest would find it for you. Was a great game in it;s time. Wing Commander (pc) another game that drove pc sales, was stunning for it's time.Back then eye candy seemed more important to customers than gameplay. Area 51 ( saturn?) that was a really good conversion. Not quite the arcade (yes I have that one too) but good. Altered Beast (genesis) WTF! That was the release title and it really showed 16bit. It was an all new level and it made Genesis SELL! Yeah it has not aged well but again, in it's day it was eye popping!
Jess Ragan #11 Posted October 27, 2009 The worst part is that they think they're actually funny. "Brutal? Just PLAYING this is Brutal! See what I did there? I took the title and turned it around on them! I'm so clever!" Yeah, I'm sure you're the life of the party on the short bus.
WatchVenusSpa #12 Posted October 27, 2009 The dude dissed Leisure Suit Larry, his list has no credibility on the virtue of this sin alone.
mos6507 #13 Posted October 27, 2009 Getting people upset about what's on or not on lists like these is a time-honored way of driving traffic to websites. The only way to win is not to play.
Classic Pac #14 Posted October 27, 2009 I have this friend who loves his Leisure Suit Larry game PC, anyway they left one out Bubsy 3D PS1 it's worst that Altered Beast.
Goochman #15 Posted October 27, 2009 2600 Pac Man was worse than ET. On some level ET showed the 2600 could do more (big multicolor characters, multiscreen world, etc..) Pastel Man, I mean Pac Man was a joke by any measure.

Pastel Man, I mean Pac Man was a joke by any measure. I think the disappointment is more with Pac-Man than E.T. There was a big hype before the Pac-Man release such that you had to be put on a pre-order list. And I, like most people, felt the swift kick in the balls only seconds after hitting the reset button with this cart in the VCS for the first time. I think a lot of people did what I did after the first game - read the manual for an explanation! What was it - pancakes instead of fruit?
WatchVenusSpa #17 Posted October 27, 2009 What made Pac-Man such a huge folly was that they thought they could sell more games than there were systems on the market. The fact that they did such a crappy port only compounded what was already the biggest boondoggle ever.
roland p #18 Posted October 27, 2009 As mentioned, there are some pretty cool titles in that list.
Koopa64 #19 Posted October 27, 2009 You know what I'M surprised to see with this list? I searched "32X" and found nothing. Out of 101 worst games of all time, according to them, the 32X had no bad games... Not that it doesn't, but it certainly has good games. That's why I like it. Oh yeah, Big Rigs placed 98th... WTF were they smoking? That should have been in the top 10.

Cosmic Carnage and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy immediately spring to mind. I didn't like Doom. But the system seems to have avoided the bullet of truly horrible games. Sure, there are some bad ones, but nothing mind-numbingly awful. Admittedly, I never played the 32XCD FMV games.

Sure, there are some bad ones, but nothing mind-numbingly awful. Admittedly, I never played the 32XCD FMV games. Surprisingly, I've actually found people who like Cosmic Carnage and Star Trek. Most (or at least a good amount) of the games on the 32X are love it or hate it I find. My favorite 32X games so far are Virtua Fighter, Doom, Mortal Kombat II, Tempo (sort of), After Burner and Star Wars Arcade. The 32X CD games are just enhanced ports of Sega CD games. Those being Night Trap, Slam City with Scotty Pippen, Supreme Warrior, Fahrenheit and Corpse Killer. IIRC Midnight Raiders and Surgical Strike were canceled. As far as the quality of the 5 32X CD games, they're the same as their Sega CD counterparts, for better or for worse, just with improved visuals. I think Night Trap was edited for it's 32X CD re-release.
Austin #23 Posted October 28, 2009 These guys clearly don't know what the hell they were talking about: Altered Beast on the Genesis--one of the complaints are the controls? WTF? Maybe the SMS version, yeah, but the Genesis version was spot on with controls. Rise of the Robots? Yes, it's clearly not a work of art, but I have played far, far worse fighting games. The 7th Guest? Oookaaaay. These guys were definitely on something, and it clearly wasn't the good sh**. This list = epic fail.

And the only reason why Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is on their is because AVGN did a review of it. Because of the type of FMV game it is, you can actually play it on YouTube?
